ok, one more quick question. what did you guys think of the car the first time you drove it? what were the good, and the bad things that you found? i still have yet to drive one, but so far, i like the looks, and it looks like the legroom is going to be ok. thanks again guys.trey

When I drove an S14 from a used dealer I thought:"Man this could be a nice car, if it didnt have 4 warped rotors, a 'has been stripped to race' interior feel, and a 92k motor that was on its last legs. Good interior room and a nice burnout for having 3 people in it."

When I drove an S13 from a private owner I thought: "Jesus, this thing pulls harder than my 5.0 (kitted automatic-and I'm at a 2500ft elevation) with half the motor! Not to mention that its a much more nimble car. Wait whats that sound? Thats my passenger... I can hear them at 50mph? Wow thats a big difference from having a ragtop stang with 3-chamber flowmasters, I can have a conversation on the freeway, and I can listen to my stereo under '20' on the dial!!! WOW!"

The passenger was my dad and what I heard him say was "Holy ****!" when I did the 1st-2nd gear shift. Now bear in mind he drives a new Ford van for work everyday with a 4.6 and a slushbox... not really what I'd call a fast thing, but still, it was nice to hear. Once the S13 (1992) passed the mechanical inspection I bought it. Been having fun ever since:D

EDIT: oh bad things.... 1)no real back seat, but the 5.0 wan't any better. The up side to this is that I don't have to haul all my friends around anymore. Good thing, because with someone behind the driver, I'm humping the wheel.2)open differential. This can be fixed, but I have no money and its still pissing me off.3)My third car... my third red car... I'm seeing a pattern (see #4)4)No speeding ticket for nearly 3 years, and my insurance was about to drop. Two months of owning this pocket rocket and I have to donate $135 to the locals (remember, I don't have that wind whistle like I used to). At least he got me when I was slowing down:rolleyes

i loved the acceleration, but i was coming off a 93hp DSM :-) I thought it handled like a dream, and the only thing i could complain about was the sloppy shifter and the blind spot seemed kinda big @ the time (though i've gotten used to it)....btw, it's a S13

i have an s14. Is the blind spot any smaller? out of everycar i have driven i think my 240 has the smallest blind spot, and i feel the most comfortable driving it. When i first got mine, i didn't know what i had. The first one i got when i was 16. I bought it of my aunts friend, and got a good deal. That one got totaled by a drunk running into me, and i had to get another one. I almost settled for a 1997 gsx, but im glad i found my current 240. now that my sr20 is on the way, i know i made the right choice.

The first time I drove an S13, I knew I had to have one. Then the second time I drove an S13 was in my car, with the dying motor. I drove it around the block and that was it. The third time I drove an S13 was my friends SR20 240. And the fourth time I got to drive my S13 was when the SR20 fired up. I love my car already, and I've only been driving it for a week. I need to get a new passenger mirror though. Mine is missing, so it makes backing up real fun.

I bought my S13 after owning a close to 300hp MKIII Turbo Supra. I liked how the S13 pulled decently, not as good as the Supra, but it also had some horrible turbo lag due to age that let alot of people get the jump on me. I also had forgotten what it was like to drive a 2700lb as opposed to 3600lb car! Only thing I can complain about is how vibration-happy the KA is, I need something a bit smoother.......

damn....everybody has s13's. I have a 97 s14 and I love it....lots of room. I love how it dirves, I love how it looks and the first time I drove it, I knew it had potential. The only thing I didnt like is that the ****in dealership that sold it to me ripped me off by selling it to me with a horrible oil leak. Anyways, the only thing that annoyed me was the loud clutch fan (which I removed when I got home).

first test drive (of any car) was a s13 hatchback.after i finished my dad drove it and he loved it (and he hates foreign cars) . went back to the dealer and made an offer and bought it.only down side was the automatic.

i sold it, and guess what i got? another one just like it but se 5spd. that should tell you how much fun these are.

my first test drive...

i went to this used car lot because i needed a set of wheels, but was broke as hell. i spoke with the saleman and told him that i wanted to test drive "that thing" (pointing at a 240sx fastback).

i took her for a spin, and i was really impressed (the people in the neighborhood where i was dogging the car out in weren't impressed with me though).

i got back to the car lot and popped the hood....holy bejesus!!! it's a four banger!!!

"i'll take it!!!!"

I have an s13. I bought the car before i even drove it!

I knew once I fired her up (on the first try) from her place of resting for over a year, that sulfuric odor that cleared my sinuses made the decision for me. hehe

In all honesty I just knew what nissans are like, I liked 240s but only because I got a deal on this puppy that amounted to less than what 4 cheap 195 tires would be for it, i took it.

The fact that it idled fine, was enough for me. I've since ordered an intake, completely gutted and cleaned the interior, did a full front brake job, oil change/oil filter, fuel filter....shes runnin good. I'm not done with it yet though :)

I have taken her for some spirited runs, for what the winter roads have allowed me and the car seems somewhat peppy. But then again my other car is an LT1 Trans Am. ;)

As for saturns, my gf has a 99 SC2 5 speed with all the options, such a light car and i find it fun to drive. Kinda helped me consider this lil 4 banger of an import ;)

I forget what it was called.... it was the ultra econo-box. Its not that i dont like saturns (my dad has an V-6 saturn, very light with about 200 hp and it hauls ***) i just like nissans way more.

My first test ride in an '89 S13, back in '89 right before I ordered mine. I was impressed with the crisp handling and looks, and the car fit like a glove. But I was disappointed with the lack of power. But since I was using it for commuting, that lack of power (downright anemic with the A/C on) didn't bother me enough not to buy it. 13 years later I feel the same way about her.

well when i test drove my S13 for the first time, i was taken, i had been looking at them and liked them, but when i drove it, i just had to own it. it pulls so nice in the low speed cause of the damn torquey motor. i can beat camero's off the line, and i absolutely love the vlsd. i am in love with my S13, and i will never sell her. unless of course i find a skyline for cheap:D

"i can beat camero's off the line, and i absolutely love the vlsd."

with an stock s13 or even lightly modded, you must be taking on those old ratted out 80s camaros, the ones with the horrible 2.8 v6 in them

you honestly can't be serious, unless its against the above car. then i would believe.
