alright, i have noticed that my speakers tend to get very un-good sounding the louder they are. they dont have good sound and they kinda rattle. well, i figured out that they're max power is 20RMS and my head unit puts out 50x4. so, at higher volumes, they suck. well, since im blessed with such a massive selection of 4x6 speakers, i have found very little that have more than a max power of 20RMS from pioneer. therefore, i was looking at some Infinity Kappas, the 462.5cfp to be exact. they have a max RMS of 60 i believe, so if anything they'll be a tad underpowered and i will have glorious sound to annoy old ladies and families with. the problem....on Crutchfield, it says that they only fit the rear side panels..not the front. if i remove the little covers, will they fit in the front? or are they too deep? if these are a no go, what would a better alternative be. i also have a 4 year warrenty on the speakers i have right now...Pioneer A4667s, so, i can just run back to best buy, say they're dead and see if i can get some new ones. and if i can, its time for Infinitys if i can make them fit up front. thanks for the help.

You can make anything fit anywhere if you try hard enough...

...sometimes.

Measure everything and you should know then, I would believe what Crutchfield says though.

If you really want something to annoy families with, why don't you get a hold of a pair of Kicker Solo-Barics and a nice amp.

One of the best things you can do for front speakers in a 240SX is make some adapter plates and mount some 6.5" components/seperates. Make sure you get some of those foam hat looking things, or the speaker will be using the entire door for an enclosure.

I wouldn't worry too much about rear speakers (beyond subs) as you don't need it to have a decent front stage/rear fill set up.

As for subs, there are a few threads discussing this, scroll down or maybe even the 2nd page. In short, a single well powered 10", in a properly built box will serve you well.

What do you mean by "Retuned my sound"? I don't really understand what you mean by this. What did you change?

i have a pioneer head unit with full audio controls. we redid the high, medium and low sounds, as well as fade and some other thing. it sounds MUCH better now.

Oh. So you adjusted the Eq . Yep, that can make a system sound either really good, or like complete crap.
