yeah, I start my KA-T and it smokes, (I have no downpipe on) when the exhaust smoke comes into the interior area and the smell of fuel is overpowering, I have to turn the car off and get out, wow it smells so bad.... ok, I installed an afc, it's turned off because of this problem and I put some 370's in place of the KA stock injectors .. now, the 370's came from a blacktop, I have had them sitting around for about 2 years now... i'm thinking that I have some stuck injectors... yesterday a friend came over and asked me to turn the ignition on while he listened and smelled inside my throttle body... after my fuel pump primed and a couple seconds passed he was like oh oh dang I smell fuel strong! So does this mean my injectors are stuck open from sitting so long or they just dont work properly? I have had one stuck injector on my SR20 before and I remember the way it ran and it wasn't anything like this, i'm thinking I have more than 2 stuck or non operative. ccan someone offer any advice?

OH and my O2 sensor isn't hooked up... I wouldn't think it would cause that much fuel dump, right? I mean the exhaust smoke is SO strong so much fuel vapor in it.

Quick question?,

Did you say you dropped the 370's in there with out nothing controlling them?

If so that is definitely your problem #1.

Second of all. Do you have a wide band to monitor your afr? If not I highly recommend you get one ASAP.

What do you expect when you install injectors that flow 37% more than the computer is programmed for and you can smell them leaking before you fire it up?

You can't just install bigger injectors and hope they'll work. That is THE reason you're running rich.

You also need to install the stock O2 sensor.

sorry, yes I have an AFC controlling them.. in fact, it's the old school one with the dials... I have all the dials set to 0 right in the middle, is that bad? I figure if I put it there, it isn't making any correction to the fuel map, right? Yeah all my plugs are fouled out so im kinda ruling out the fact that all 4 injectors are bad.

It should be - something not 0 becuase your telling the computer like if you have stock injectors you need to subtract some of the fuel. If you have a walboro and the injectors with no fpr you might run into some issues also.

Get your self a wideband, and start turning dials. You need to tell the computer whats up. As a matter of fact I would dish out an extra 100 bucks and get your self a safcI with the display much easier to tune.

Did you say "no downpipe"? Are you trying out for the world record of stupid?

1) Cold air hitting the hot turbine or your valves can make them crack.

2) Unburned fuel under your hood = kaboom!

3) Exhaust all up in every thing.

WTF?

It might be your injector o-rings. They need to be replaced everytime you remove and install injectors. And they are not hard to tear when installing. A small amount of petroleum jelly prior to install can help you get them in with less chance of tearing the rings.

Until you get a wideband, turn the low throttle dial to about -27%. It should run alright there. I'm not going to recommend a high throttle subtraction because then you will go WOT and blow up, then come on here and ask why.

A safe setting until you get to a dyno or get a wideband would be like, -27 from say 800 until 2300, at 2300 start add fuel back in. Have it at 0 correction by 2800ish. It may a tad rich, but it's safe enough to drive it to be tuned. Don't be getting all into the boost thinking rich means your safe to flog her, EVERY car is different, you could have a vac leak or somthing that makes you run ALOT leaner then average.
