I know the filter is next to the passenger tire. Is it possible to use the spare jack to change the filter, and also would it give me enough room to drain? If not, where would be the best place to put a floor jack?

Also, has anyone used a K&N filter, and if so what model did you get?

Don't just leave it on the jack by itself. Put some jack stands underneath it or use ramps.

Make sure you buy a crusher washer for the drain plug, it'll save you a headache.

You really can't get away with using just the one stock jack - you are going to either need 2 jacks and stands, or ramps. If you don't have the car level, you might not get all the oil out of the pan...

The K&N filter is the HP-1008 - It's the exact same thing as the Mobil 1 Filter, part number M-108.

I use the ramps. No jacking and stands needed for this, you simply drive up, drain the oil, and remove the filter by getting under the car and pulling the flap back. I reccomend either the K&N or the mobil filter. The nut shaped end they have is key in getting the filter off easy later.
