As the title says, this last weekend I took my first roadtrip in my 240SX. Between 4/16 and 4/17 I went a total of aobut 600 miles, and the car performed nicely. I went from Dallas to San Antonio and back by way of US67 and US281, instead of Interstate 35. That was the best choice of the whole trip. I got there in 5 hours, right about the same time as I-35 in normal traffic. (if you are fortunate enough to get light traffic all the way down I-35, it takes 4.5 hours or so, but I usually hit traffic jams in Austin)

For most of the trip, I only saw about 4 cars ahead of me. The heavy traffic only came in the DFW area and the San Antonio area. For the trip I got 28mpg.

I like taking road trips in the S14

I don't like putting all those miles on it though...so I'll likely get something else to drive daily and road trip in the not-too-distant future.

The seats could be a bit better (I have the stock leather seats) but it's still a nice experience and a fun car on the highway.

Last December, I drove from Klamath Falls Oregon to Fontana California (about 1,462 miles round trip) to go to the GT-Live event. While the seats arn't great, my car did extremly well and I got about 26 mpg. I did the drive in one day (each way).

I'd rather road trip in this car thatn my previous civic. Completely stock, the 14 is one of the most comfortable rides i've been in. And that was with blown rear shocks.

I probably should have mentioned that I was in a 1992 Fastback S13. My fiancee was with me, and she has a rough time with cars and roadtrips where she tends to get abit nauseous on the road. My Civic, her parent's van, whatever. For some reason she says she doesn't feel that way with the 240SX. Though the oddly shaped S13 front seats do aggravate her back. Though my brother and I don't have problems with the seats.

God i love driving to mountains in my s13.

I go to blue ridge mountains to ski every winter; couple times i say.

its just awesome, the experience of cold, narrow roads at high altitudes in a s13 cornering hard on 2nd, 3rd.

can't wait until next winter.
