So the first real snowstorm hit the tri-state area and my S13 was finally put to the test. Would the power mods be too much for the performance tires, or would the suspension upgrades be enough?Well, I have to say that I was quite impressed by the way it handled itself in the bad weather. The only problem I had was climbing a very steep hill after a sharp right turn because I had no momentum and the tires were just spinning like crazy no matter how much finesse I used with the throttle. No major problem though, just backed up, powerslit through the turn at about 25-30mph and conquered the hill in 2nd. When I got to my job at 10.45PM I found that I was the first one there which left me with a 200 cars parking lot completely empty. I mean COMPLETELY EMPTY. Let's just say that I was entertained for a good 25 minutes. After work the car proved itself once again when one of my co-workers got into an accident (she drives a '04 Pontiac Vibe and she got hit by a '99 Camry). Her bumper was completely lifted off and her front axle wasn't looking too stable. She wanted to drive home like that, but after telling all my employees that we are a huge family I just couldn't let her. So I went 45mins out of my way and dropped her off at home. While Subaru's and SUV's were barely able to do 55mph we were easily crusing at 75-80mph. All in all I'd say the S13 completely passed the test, although if I get a chance, I'd much rather put Bridgestone Blisszak's all around for the remainder of the winter.I guess the Brembo's will have to wait just a little longer...

75-80 mph in inclement weather? Real smart.

How much snow did you get up there in NY anyway? You guys got the brunt of that storm more so than we did here in DE (just a few flurries and some patches of ice here and there)

What kind of 'performance' tires do you run now?

If I were you i'd definitely get some blizzak's, you're in NY--your'e in for the worst.

OK, SeVa, too bad that the conservation of the species theory has nothing to do with this....All jokes aside, I was doing those speeds because it felt quite safe in the vehicle, plus the roads were already dry in the morning. About the sliding in the parking lot.... Ok so you got me there:-)Have none of you ever rallied or driven hard on snow? It's quite thrilling!
