Yeah, I was undeafeted until I raced for the first time with my new clutch on Monday. Yup... It was horrible... Lost 2 races against a 2.8L V6 Cavalier (don't laugh) and raced an '8 Prelude Si twice.

1st Race: Cavalier - ****ty Road, launched at 3000rpm, spun like a mother ****er thanks to some sand on the side of the road. Lost Horribly.

2nd Race: Cavalier (Again, I was ready to put him away) - Same Road, however I did a few burnouts to get the sand of the tires, and I was on the good side. Launched at 2500rpm. Burned the hell out of 1st and most of 2nd, finally caught traction and almost cauight up to him.

I was done and dissapointed for then... Went back to school.

3rd Race: Prelude Si - Feeling down, was really needing the win... and I figured it would come easy with this one. Better track, wider, just nicer. Launched again at 2500rpm, burned the piss outa my poor tires and just quit after I finally caught traction.

4th Race: Prelude Si - Horribly dissapointed with myself and my car, this was the last time for redemption - I had to get to work. Determined not to loose traction I launched at a lousy 1800rpm. Mild spin resulting in my first win of the day. Good feeling, but nothing could wipe away my 3 losses.

As a result of this, Daunttless will get $300 for a Limited Slip, and I will beat them good.

Try modulating the clutch and gas so you don't spin the tires (Don't just drop the clutch). Especially in situations where traction is limited(sand). Spinning tires usually results in slower times.

i had the same thing happen after my new clutch was in....it felt real fast but traction cost me every race i was in. now that it's broken in, it's fine.

Yeah, I'm just gonna get an LSD, that should help alot.. then some new tires.

Oh, and I'm aware that spinning tires costs you alot of time...

Slicks could help, except today 'cause it rained. Like I said I had little spin at 1800, but launching at 1800 sucks ***. So, I'll purchase a LSD and hope that'll allow me to launch at higher a RPM.

A nice LSD would mostly eliminate excessive wheelspin but you still need to feel out your traction in sandy/wet/etc. areas by feathering the throttle as apposed to letting the tach bounce off the rev limiter. If my non LSD 240SX starts lighting up one tire I'll feather the throttle down to when I feel it start to grip better and many times I get back to spinning 2 tires like I should. Any good road that doesn't plan the 1WD game can't spin too much. I usually launch at about 4000 rpms if I'm not sure of the road surface and upwards to 5500 RPM at the grippy local dragstrip.

What's with the 2.8L V6 Cavalier? Those 125 hp family cars shouldn't even be racing 240s. Maybe it was a modded 3.1.

Oh yeah, I use stock suspension and Falcon Ziex in stock demensions and I can't get more than a squeek out of the tires with a 2500RPM launch.

hey i have a 175hp family car (o2 altima) and i race, and only lost 3 times, once i have to admit, was against an o2 spec V, and the other two were just guys i met at a meet and ran em, o2 camaro SS, and o1 Mustang GT (supercharged, but he was afraid of wheelspin so i got him to 40MPH!!, then he killed me, front tires almost came off the ground!!!)

Launching at 2500RPM on the stock clutch I got no spin at all. I used to launch at about 4 and the tires would just chirp, but as I noticed its completely different with the Stage 2. I dont know what kind of clutch you have, but if it is an aftermarket one my tires must be ****tier then I thought. They are almost bald in the back, I need to buy knew ones. Not to mention, they were cheap... $90 for all 4.

And, yes, it was a 2.8L. I have put him away a few times before without a problem... Before the new clutch and wheelspin problem.

The stage 2 should spin the tires at at lower RPM and you'll notice an increased chirp or spin entering the following gears. My clutch is total crap. I cannot get spin whatsoever into 2nd unless the ground it a little wet or I'm turning but it's still raceeable. I'm swapping the transmission/clutch/differential soon for another 240SX transmission with good syncroes, an ACT street cltuch, and LSD differential.

Oh yeah, the rear tires should be grippier then ever now that they are bald. You'll know this for sure if you've driven a car without powersteering for long enough to buy new tires.

Even 205 Width crap tires shouldn't bounce off the limiter on a good road but I have to say that the ziex grip what seems like 3X (realistically 1.5X) as well as the old Toyo H4 proxes of the same size.

Hey don't feel to bad my friend, the two first races I got in when I got my car was to a saturn 5spd and a cavi, lost to both of them cuz I just took off from a dead stop, no revs or anything and shifted at like 4,500 rpm lol I didn't know how to drive my car for crap. But a week later I went back and dominated them both :D

Yeah, but just a few days ago I was leaving school in the parking lot and my friend hadn't seen me since I got theclutch in, so he wanted me to spin the tires... So I was like, what the hell. 1st time i launched at a pretty low rpm, but the tires just hopped a little and then gripped the pavement quick. So, knowing that it was a ****ty bunrout I came back around to do it again. But both tires spun, and left the two black marks. So, I did it again and at a higher rpm and still left 2 black marks. I wish it would do that all of the time, cause I got up to sped much quicker.

I went in the wrong order, I just got my LSD.

Now when I launch hard I can feel my clutch spinning trying to get grip, but at least one of my tires no longer spins. :)

I dont guess it works for 240's but my friends mustang.. if he reverses for 10-20 feet then pulls to the line he spings both tires, something about traction control?

Daniel, I am very pleased with the SPEC Stage 2. Pedal feels almost just like with the old clutch and is smooth, and it does grab alot better. I also got mine from http://www.enjukuracing.com and highly recommend them, as would (I believe) anyone else here that bought something from them. I ordered my clutch and flywheel at the same time, and recieved the flywheel in like 2 days, and the clutch the next.

encasemyheart, what LSD did you get? Where'd you get it from? Does it work good?
