Got the QX the end of February (only 2200 miles after this trip) and took our first long haul in it on Sunday. 500 miles over 15 hours from SE VA thru DC to Baltimore, MD and back again for a baptism.

Highs--Very comfy ride (had 4 adults and 2 kids in the truck) and everybody was happy, including my mother who got the 3rd row. At one point, everybody in the car (except me ) was sleeping for a good 90 minutes.-The VQ is a great engine...quiet and confident but there when you need to step on it-Very happy w/gas mileage. Got 15.5 MPG for the entire trip. I usually try to cruise at 80 and there is a noticeable difference btwn 80 and 70. The trip computer would register in the upper 16's if you keep just below 70- definitely the price of driving a "heavy brick". Then again, consider that we were able to take one vehicle instead of two. Our old Pathfinder would only have gotten 16/17 on this trip so I'll take a 1-2MPG difference for the extra comfort/room in the QX.-Enjoy the XM. I've subscribed to Sirius for almost 3 years, but I really enjoy the XM too. Sorta a Coke/Pepsi thing.-LOVE being able to play the DVD player for the kid and still use the front speakers for just me. I even turned off the rest of the speakers for the late night part of the drive so everybody in the 2nd/3rd row could sleep in peace while I still kept myself awake.

Lows-- I'm one of those people who like to use the door sill for my elbow and it could use some padding. It got uncomfortable for the last hour or so. Granted, I'm stretching when this is my only gripe

All in all....very happy with the QX

Awesome! Good to hear. I feel the same same way about my '08 Armada, minus I didn't notice the issue with the door sill, maybe it is because I have freakishly long arms. LOL

Mine are kind of boney as well, but I really find it quite suited for me. Lucky me I guess!

You know...I noticed driving it last night that it is padded, even more than in my Acura. That would lead me to think that my uncomfortableness was more the result of so many hours in the saddle and not any fault of the QX. Guess I don't have any lows then!

I'm also a DC/MD/VA guy and just traded in my 04 qx56 for an 08. The ride is amazing, I love it the computer is telling me that I am getting 12 mpg, maybe if I use a trusty calculator it will say something different. the 04 got 15 for 4 years. Do you use regular or premium?

I also noticed the elbow thing, I just thought it was me.

I think it is funny that my '04 QX56 had 315hp and ran on Premium, my '08 Armada has 317hp and can run on Regular or Ethanol. Go figure!
