Would the 01-02 ka engine fit in 98 altima? Where would I aquire one with low milage or better yet brand spankin' new! I ask because I need to replace my high milage engine. I was thinking that I would swap the old automatic one out for a 01-02 ka24de (+5 hp) with a manual transmission. I used and abused that Altima so awsomely and it never gave me any problems. The only thing I replaced engine wise was the head gasket. I guess i pushed her too hard. Altima's are champs! Any advice will help.

Hey man sorry i missed this.

Umm i would have to say bad idea all together.

The cost to swap engines would be a ton of loot, and if you are swapping for a manual transmission the cost will go thru the roof

3000 if not more for the whole project. id say get a new 2009 altima coupe with 270 hp 6sp manny transmission.

i agree with dldjros69 on this one the price of a swap wouldn't be worth the money.you could always buy one of these vvvvvvvvvvvv

Thanks and I bet the new Altimas are kick a** (They are from the same Nissan blood-line) I still think that the 2nd gen Altima is for me, unless I could aquire an 05-06 SE-R OMG!!! I don't think many people know how good the 2nd gen Altimas are, it's got potential! Not just for mad power but reliability! I guess I could buy a 01 SE. It's got the 4 disc abs brakes, moon roof and the engine I want. Thanks again!
