Decided to stop lurking and identify myself as a new poster.

I bought my first Datsun pickup, a 1966 520, in 1969. Since then, I have had 3 Toyotas, a 520 that I put a Buick V-6/4spd into, a 521 that I installed an L-18 into, a Chevy LUV I installed a Toyota 18RC/4 spd into, a 1995 D21, stock (!), and my latest driver, a 1967 520 that got an LZ20s/5 spd from a 1981 510. Over the years, I have had a lot of fun with all my trucks, but they all have been daily drivers, rather than show trucks.

The latest one is probably the biggest kick in the rear. I kept the stock 4.87 gears, so it does tend to merge onto the freeway briskly, and at full song through the Cherry Bomb muffler. The body is hardly pristine and is painted Krylon semi gloss black. Stock front wheels and reversed 720 4wd wheels in the rear tend to give the truck a hotrod style rake. I have lots I would like to do to it, but i have some serious scrounging to do still.

Looks like a good forum, might just stick around. Wave as you go past Woodland, WA. I'm usually merging onto I-5 at 6:40 in the morning.

Would love to hear details on the Buick swap, especially trans, shaft, rearend, and brake choices. I have access to a 3.8T that I've been considering for a 620 sleeper.
