Hello all!!

Bought my 2007 350Z four days ago (6/16/07 25.6 miles)..still in a daze..8-)

So far (125 miles) I am extremely happy with the car's handling, power and smoothness.

As a true "noobie" I've got a couple of the "usual" noobie questions, here go;

1) I'm considering slapping in a pair of K&Ns..worthwhile?2) What wash/wax products do you guys use on the new cars?3) Any recommends on security; LowJack, alarms, ect?

Been browsing the forums for a couple of days and feel very happy about finding you guys, will post pics asap.

Laterzzz....

K&N filters won't really give you a noticeable gain in any measurable department. They are bad for the MAF sensor though.

Security? If you have the money, there is no such thing as too much security. Alot of people use Viper products.

WELCOME!

They are only bad for the maf if you over-oil them

You are saying that a k&n cold air ram intake is bad for the mass airflow? What kind of problems would that cause? My car has been all over the place with gas mileage this summer!Could the k&n be causing my maf to do this?I installed my k&n the second spring that I owned the car.Never had probems before this year. This is my third summer with it.Does that also mean my maf needs to be changed or can I just clean the filter to solve my fuel problem?

I'd highly recommend putting a clear bra on the front bumper ASAP! It won't take long before rocks will chew up the paint.

The issue with cloth filters is that they need oil to filter correctly. When you over-oil the filter, it will coat the MAF and could cause errors or worse. If you oil the filter properly, you'll be fine.

To clean it, get the K&N filtercharger kit and a bucket. Tap all the crap off, and submerge the filter in the bucket with the cleaning solution. Dunk it and swish it around until the water turns nasty. Repeat until the water is relativly clean. Now, you need to wait until the filter is dry before putting on the oil. Let it sit out in the sun, or use compressed air. Once dry, apply the filter oil on the top of the pleats. DONT OVER OIL!!

Gas can also cause MPG fluctuations. Find a decent gas station, and stick with it...only use premium of course.

Listen to this man, we offered clear bras with all our new jags and land rovers at my old work. Customers love them, practically invisible until 3 feet away only if ur looking for it, does not stand out and protects alot better than leather bras.

i gotta clean my K&N filter, should do that this week.

I'm so quite upset.. Tried not to drive the car as I'm waiting for the 3M clear bra to arrive at the installer's shop, unfortunately I had to drive it to work today...fck**g Florida TPike and it's gazillion dump truck.. Got home and not one chip but two right smack on the nose, on a three week old car!!!!!.

From today until I get the bra it'll be the Harley, don't give a sh*t if it pours..

Had to vent...rant ...get it out ...later, guys & gals

See if you can get Nissan to touch up those two rock chips. I know they have done it before for others when the car is new. If not, I would get those fixed somewhere before putting on the clear bra.
