first post, buying a 95 240sx (hopefully)

i am going tomorrow to check out a 95 240sx that i found on craigslist

little background info on me really quick, im 17, want to get in to the 240sx tuner scene, i think they look awesome, but dont know too much about them at all

anyways it has an sr20det blacktop engine, stock turbo i think60k miles on the engine140k miles on chassisidk much about anything else as far as transmission and interior/exterior ill let you guys know tomorrow after i see it, ill try to take pics

anyways, he is asking 7,500 for it. and basically i just want to know if that is a reasonable price for what it has, like i said ill get back to you on the looks and all, and any other mods he has done to it

by stock sr do you mean the entire engine or just the stock turbo

ill purchase a sr swap and do the work and ill sell you mine for 5k. way overpriced. thats near z32 tt pricing for half the fun.

My suggestion would be to look for a clean stock S14. When you go check out the car, bring someone who knows about cars and if you can someone who knows about 240's to check out the wiring, any signs of rust, accidents..etc etc.

I myself wouldn't buy a modded car for a first car, due to the fact that I wouldn't know what the car feels like stock, and because I wouldn't know exactly what was done to the car as well as the parts and what not. Nor would you know how to properly maintenance the car.

But thats just my opinion, good luck~

okay so i went and looked at it, he told me reason for selling and everything and showed me everything that was done to it

it has a full aftermarket suspension setup, new rear end. carbon hood and trunk, pretty nice interior, hmm trying to think of what else, there was alotwhat do you guys think, like i said about 7500

coilovers or struts and springs? Why dont you just ask him for a parts list? Get the list and come back here, it BARELY sounds worth it to me though.
