Hello, this is my first post and I would like to say that this is a VERY informative forum. I just purchased a 1990 240SX in mint shape and I am going to buy the SR Redtop tommorow morning. Now, I have a few questions..And yes, I have searched extensively. I would like to know if these mods I list should make around 250whp right off the bat. FMIC,Walbro FP,Exhaust,Test Pipe, Elbow, Downpipe,BOV. That is all the money I curently can donate to this project. Basically, I would like to run Low 13 seconds in the quarter, and still be reliable. I will be doing the swap this week or next. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also, any other Items like Motor mounts or anything people recomend?

Those will most likely give you around 190-200 whp since you didnt' mention a boost controller. While you're at it you should do the clutch and yes motor mounts.

Yes, I forgot to mention. I would like to add Some Kind of boost controller so I can run 12PSI. I'm thinking the Apexi AVC-R so I can tune with it..Pricey, but I have heard good things about it.

I've very commonly seen people run 14-15 psi on the stock T25 turbo w/ those mods and dyno at ~240-250rwhp. If they drive well enough, they're able to pull low 13s on street tires. Some have even dipped into the high 12s using slicks. It's all up to the driver in a drag race though.

You mean Apexi SAFC not AVCR. The AVCR is a boost controller.

So, I bought the front clip this morning. To save on costs at the moment, I will probably use the stock Intercooler and BOV...Am I going to lose tons of horses this way? Also, anybody heard of Joe (something) Manual Boost controllers? Thanks again for everybodys input. Appreciated.

any boost controller named about someone, is usually made at Home Depot. I made one for $14, but decided to say no when I found a TurboXS manual controller for $35. I just dont trust a hillbilly boost controller on my car, other people may.

Ebay is LOADED with these homemade boost controllers. Look forward to boost spikes/damage with these. I'm sure they do the job to a certain degree, but why take a risk with an important part.

I guess I will spend a little more and get a boost controller that is quality. Now, I have read the exhaust thread a few times...Anybody know where to get a decent Mandrel bent Cat Back exhaust for under $400?
