I just bought an automatic (ew, I know) 1990 300zx. I want to start with TEIN lowering springs and a manual transmission swap. What are your guys best/favorite mods? Could be best performing, best for budget, good looking, anything.

The one you might like most, until you swap to a manual, is the remove the Line pressure solenoid. You can find this under the passenger fender well, towards the top. Disconnect that, and the transmission will run at full line pressure, making shifts much firmer and sharper. Similar to installing a shift kit (I was coming from a different car that had one in it). I learned this from a fellow member here who mentioned it on one of my older posts. Of course if you do disconnect that solenoid, you'll also want to install a trans cooler as well, but that's a cheap and easy mod that will make your auto feel much more responsive when shifting.

Maintenance, get up to date on ALL the maintenance and then start spending money on mods.
