What would be the first three mods to get for an S14 240sx?

I was thinking more like an engine rebuild, turbo kit, and then intake and exhaust.

1. Learn the car and how to drive it.2. Maintenance.3. LSD/Suspension4. Save up for a turbo kit/swap if you're serious about going fast.

do the basic stuff first, and make sure it is in perfect running order before you spend a dime on aftermarket parts. the turbo would probobly come last on the list

The old I/H/E route is alright if you have money to blow and don't mind still being essentially slow because they will yield modest gains at best. That's why I said if you're serious about being "fast", you'll need some sort of serious work/swap done.

Seva-s13 is giving very solid advice. do the tune up thing and make sure it's running well before you plunge into the aftermarket stuff. I spent quite a bit on the parts for maintainence and repairing stuff that needed replacing. First couple parts that went out on me were alternator, water pump, and the radiator. Look for old and leaking hoses and replace those, might also want to consider a brake upgrade before adding power since the 240 is known for a weak stock system.

Well my first mod was a head gasket replacement. which since I was in there I had the head shaved/ cleaned replaced and worn parts like water pump timing chain belts, etc....

That should be your first step before you do and mods

If you’re going for a ka build start with some new rods/pistons

I’m getting another block(one with less then 150k) to build into a ka-t so I can drive my baby around for a while and I want to make sure I don't run into any problems with the stock motor so a good overhaul is a very step for preventative maintenance.
