Well was driving to work last night and service engine light came on. Ended up getting it checked right away this morning at the dealership. Turns out the Air Fuel Ratio Sensor already went. Oh joy, gotta love sensors in cars. Only 2800 miles and it went, hopefully, really hope, that I didn't end up with a lemon one, but we will see. Figured would be good info to know that it may happen to others.

Sometimes a bad batch of sensors makes their way to the assembly line. I had one O2 sensor fail at ~2000 miles and the other at ~ 3000 miles in my xterra. They haven't fail in the past 70000 miles

What he said. I had MAFs fail in both Kias at 5000 miles. The replacements had no problems for as long as I owned the cars.

Then again, we had a Ford Windstar minivan that went through 14 Oxygen sensors in 10 months. We didn't have to pay for any of them, but after #14 we traded for a used Odyssey!
