just got back from a long weekend in ocean city maryland,,,,,soo fun! one way down is around 300 miles and i'm convinced there is no better vehicle than the Q! so solid, comfortable, and most importantly,,,,,,FAST!!!!! before i went down on sat., put a bottle of bg44k in my 3/4 full tank. on the trip home (filled up in oc), averaged 21.2 mpg!!!! (the whole way averaging 80mph). very pleased with what i'm thinking are bad knock sensors and oxygen sensors! no better car on the highway!!!!jeff

I love driving my Q anytime, but getting her out on the open interstate cruising at 80 makes me realize that this is really what she was made to do.

I agree with everything...

When I did a round trip cincy to anderson in one day (actually in about 5 hours), Im convinced I wouldnt do it in any other car, EVEN with my warped rotors!!!

I wouldnt mind having it a little bigger. Im in wisconsin right now, and we ended up taking our 03 suburban. Its nice but not as good as the Q, but with all of our stuff and 4 people we wouldnt have been able to fit it all in :( . Kind of a bummer because the Q is so fun to ride in, you NEVER get worn out driving that car....

Jeff, I feel sorry for you that you dont get to drive it daily.!!!!!

In SoCal, 80 is the slow lane.....:)

Even cooler is that with my plain vanilla 4 door sedan, I can blast by cops who never even blink.

More agreement here. We did a trip to San Diego a few months back, averaged 85-90 and it just felt as comfy and stable as the Shinkansen (bullet train) I rode in from Shizouka to Tokyo. Can't wait to take this baby to Vegas for SEMA in November.

Hey quick question, my 94Q aveaged 16.2MPG since I have own it for about 2 weeks, I have been driving both city and highway. I am driving 20 miles 1 way to work everyday and is that normal MPG? Or is there any problems I should take a look at??

Thanks

Driving the Q around town feels like a waste (especially because my gas mileage drops to 13mpg). But its still nice dropping her into first and spinning the tires. :)

Depends on gas, where you drive and how you drive. How much idling time? That's a mpg killer, but necessary for warm-up to operating temperature from a cold start.

Jesda, have you checked your KS?

Best way to measure milage is on a highway trip, full tank to fill-up with no urban driving.

I am in So Cal and I havent push the car a lot just mostly normal driving so far, shift mostly at around 2-2.5k RPM....etc. and I do push the car to redline once a while (average once a day)

Do warmups but not for long. Traffic is not that bad for me to go to work.

So is 16.2MPG in the normal range of a Q or it is too low/high???

Could you informed the ignorant (me) how KS is related to MPG? My KS is OK (according to my last check-up 6 months ago), but should I just replace the KS regardless if I feel my Q can get better MPG #s?

Long trips or just freeway cruising here and there in the Q is just bliss....what gets to me is the 3 point turns to get in and out of parking spots not to mention the Miami idiota trying to get my parking spot and not giving me enough room to back my a$$ up...they can never figure out why I can't get out of the parking spot becuase the car is so long and turning the sucker is not the easiest.

Sounds to me like you may have a power steering problem if you're struggling with the turns. I never have a problem getting mine of a spot...but then again, I always back my car up to the parking spot (one reverse) which allows leaving the scene a whole lot easier.

i said average!!!!! many 100+ runs!!! LOL when i filled up for my trip, i was at 9 mpg!!!!!!!! i do let the Q warm up and most of my trips are short bursts around town (have a company vehicle). im thinking that my KS and O2 sensors have never been changed since new (1990!!), so the 21.2 mpg i registered on the drive home seems that much more impressive. they will be changed soon, though

no power steering problems....the turning radius on these Q's is not the best....I have the wheel cranked all the way...but in downtown Miami city/building parking lots are not all that spacious. My parents Caddy EXT turns on a dime compared to my car.

My Q turns on a dime, compared to the I30, adn all the previous Maximas and Hondas I have had. Try and extended cab 2500 GMC Sierra!

I should have a good idea of the fuel mileage on the "t", since I will be driving across country.

The silver one gets 22 MPG daily. I fill up 3 times aweek, and it is almost exactly 360 miles, and 16 gallons, each time.

I agree I think its on par or better than any other car of its size. I never have any problems, but it does take a little extra maneuvering...

KS, O2, fuel rail, everything (except injectors) is dirty or due for replacement. Just replaced my air filter which was filthy after 1 yr/20k and causing it to sputter out and die at stoplights.

So I'm taking the Q up to Wes's garage for some freshening.

I love driving my Q whether it be in town or on the freeway. Here in Vegas I get to do a lot of both. I get 17mpg for my daily driving. And I drive mine like I stole it. Execessive freeway speeds & numerous hard launches in town with tires spinning. Still 17mpg with all that. No complaints here. Until I get my first ticket in it.:ylsuper
