Rogue is 1 year old. Just experienced my first issue where the interior fan would randomly at startup not operate. Adjusting the speed up and down had no effect, yet the fan speed bars would change. Turning heating unit off, then on, would get the fan work. Dealer ordered/installed new blower assembly and all is working properly again. Dealer also updated the USM (under-hood switching module) as part of a recent recall. Overall, very happy with the 2023. I've gotten multiple 35 MPG highway trips going 72 MPH (measured manually, not dash readings). The OEM Dunlop tires ride nice with decent snow and ice traction, but even when new had skimpy tread depth. Will need to be replaced before next winter at around 16-18K.

I'm a little surprised at a blower failure, the new Rogues use the same brushless type that's been used in Altimas for years. Those are pretty ironclad, they only die from bearing failure and I've seen 15 year old ones still going strong. Maybe it was jammed, if so I hope they inspected your cabin filter and cleaned out the blower cavity. It's also possible they performed this bulletin and maybe didn't replace the blower:

FYI, the correct Nissan term for the "USM" is IPDM (Integrated Power Delivery Module). USM is for other brands but most call it a PDM and leave out the "integrated". Where your dealer got USM from, I have no idea.

Glad you're enjoying the car! :)

Hi VStar, The Nissan recall notice used the term USM (also known as IPDM). The blower assembly includes a resistor that failed (intermittent). No issue with the bearings.

Then someone in the recall department is printing Japlish notices. If you said "USM" to a dealer tech who hadn't worked outside of Nissan, the only response you'd get is a blank look. Nobody calls it that.
