I also believe that no matter if workers are being abused or not, they should be able to unionize to have proper representation. The problem is this, a union can not fail to represent certain workers based on their immigration status and represent others because they are of a legal status. The teachers union here in Indiana still represent non members because the union can not afford to have the administration take advantage of those teachers..
Isn't it federal law that requires a union to represent all workers whether they are members or not? I believe that is the law in right to work states?
There were court cases where non members objected to having to pay dues even if they were non members. They lost because courts ruled that the union must represent them if fired
