Ok...So I previously posted that I recently traded in my 99 Jetta for a beautiful 2006 G35x. It's mint and I couldn't be happier with it. Everything is great with it so far. Not one complaint.
So last night after work, some friends and I head down to Mohegan Sun for a little food, drink and hopefully $$$ (didn't happen). When I get to the casino, not wanting to leave my lap top bag exposed on the back seat, I decide to throw it along with my gym bag in the trunk. When I do so...thud...the trunk floor collapses...the spare tire compartment is empty!
Now I checked this car thoroughly...top to bottom...inside and out...but I don't think I checked for a spare. I guess I just assumed (I know I know) if your spending this kind of money on this kind of car, from a reputable dealer...a spare would be standard. What do you guys think? When I was shown the car, the saleman (he's also the owner of the dealership) showed me the trunk but I don't think he mentioned the spare. I should mention also that the car was "certified". Not sure if that gave me a false sense of security.
To complicate matters...I liked the buying experience and quality of used vehicles at this dealer so much...I currently have him looking for a car for my wife. Not sure how to proceed, as if I press the issue with him on my car I'm sure he'll attempt to recoup the money in negotiations for my wife's. So a couple questions...
1) How would you proceed...is it just buyer beware and my fault?
2) What kind of spare standardly comes with an Infiniti G35x. I can't imagine driving it with a donut (gasp!).
3) What kind of cost am I looking at?
Thanks,
Rob
