Hey guys: How is everyone’s 240 doing? I am here to let everyone of you in San Diego know that me and my buddy is planning on doing a first ever formal San Diego 240sx meet in either late March or early April. I went to the last meet at Fallbrook and I know you guys are having another one this month. These meets are great but still lack of organization. People show up randomly and just stand there doing nothing. Plus there is no time for some people to prepare since the notice is like a couple weeks before the meet. Every time there are people showing up to the meet without their cars. In order to change this, I am letting every one of you know that we are going to have a formal San Diego meet 2 months down the road so that every one here will have time to get your car done, or to make your car better, or whatever, and this time, there won’t be any more standing-around or meet up and leave! I am thinking about either having a BBQ, or go to Miramar Speed Circuits, or even a buffet for dinner. Also, 2 months from now will give us more than enough time to invite more people to come (Nadine from drifting pretty emailed me already about this meet) such as your friends, or just simply getting your day off from work! It is just my though so please give me some other ideas. I need all of your support.

I'll be boosted by april, oh wait j/k. Whenever, wherever(sp?). I'm always down for a meet. Especially since i don't have to go overseas anymore, woot!!!!!!

Hey JS, if you ever need to get stuff installed you're more than welcome to give me a call. You do need to lower that 4x4 of yours(don't feel bad, my other hatch rides like that too, lol)

That actually goes for everyone out there. I have everything in my garage except for a lift and a welder(hopefully soon though, hehe). Ya'll can just shoot me an email and I'll help you install something if I got the time and space(even though I could probably do it in the middle of the court and my neighbors wouldn't care, lol).

Depending on how Matt's CA18 project goes, I might be going that route. Problem is I also need the 5spd swap parts for the job too. Just gonna have to bust my butt and break the bank on this instead of being hesitant I guess.

CA in an s14 can't be a very fun swap. But I don't know anything and I'm at work which makes me twice as stupid. it's probably no harder than an sr swap.

Lets just get you some springs and struts(take a day at the most including picking up the parts and installing them) and then turbo that ka.

Now that I look back on it i wish I had gone KA-t but oh well. don't get me wrong the sr is great but I'm so paranoid of cops now it's not even funny! I just don't trust the KA very much(been through 2 of them already).

If you do decide to do something you do just need to do it. I kept hesitating and putting off my swap and that's why I went through 2 cars and it took me 3 years to get it done(my wife was just tired of me crying so much, she really made me get it). The minute you do you'll be like, "why the h*** did I wait this long?"

P.S. I'm not really a bad influence am I cause the wifey swears I am trying to corupt the entire 240 community. I just keep telling her that everybody else is already just as screwed up as me, hahahaha.

Well see the thing is... My KA has 161k miles on it, it's an automatic, and I'm not too trusting of the timing chain. The CA18 has a timing belt, and I can get like 95% of the parts through Autozone and Kragen. (the other 5% are a royal pain in the A$$). Plus it's lighter.

I'd turbo the KA, but then I'd have a turbo car that was automatic and might blow up on me at any moment. What I REALLY want is an RB26DETT. But I don't see that happening in the forseable future.

Right now I'm shopping for 300zx brake system and exhaust. I'm considering Eibach sportline springs and AGX Shocks as well... Though I'd really want coilovers. ^_^

You said you wanted a ride in my car. I got sportlines w/agx's. It would give you a feel for what's it's like.

I don't want to threadjack anymore, we can discuss more tomorrow when I'm at home with AIM.

i am so happy to see my ka gone. i hate it. its the least reliable piece of crap ever. blew 2 headgaskets and warped 2 heads in a moths.

i just got my ca in today, so i am hoping by the begining of march to have it together.

just merging- that would be soooo awesome if you got a welder (mig or tig)!!!!!!!! i am gonna have to weld up some intercooler pipes, and my autoshop cant weld alluminum so i am not shure if im just gonna get steel or use silicon couplings...

but, that would be aewsome!!

oh will, with the money you save over an sr, you could get a t28 and a safc, and be pretty well of:)

hehehe

Hey Matt does the place you got the CA18 have a website? Care to sport me the info in an e-mail?

I'm just waiting to know if your CA came in decent shape too. If it did, I'm buying my CA the moment I know.

And Chris I would LOVE to ride in your car. It would be worth driving up there just for that.

Anytime man just hit me up and let me know when you got free time. I'll cook up some grub and whatnot so it's not a total waste of a trip(not worth the half tank of gas or so for a ride ya know).

I have access to a welder on base. i think it's like 15-25 per hour if I use it myself. I can personally weld steel only. they have an onsite welder that can do everything. I'll check on the prices later this week when they're open.

I am looking at getting a mig welder soon hopefully. It's really a toss up between boost controller or a welder. i really need them both with my full race project on the plate(took some begging to the finance dept to approve that one if you know what i mean).

hey, JS, I just realized you keep callin me Chris? it's dave man. I understad though, I know so many people it does get confusing. Maybe I'll just start callin you willy, hehe.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Lets not call me that please. lol

Sorry Dave ya my mind is mush after meeting so many people at the meet. And I've been staring at this computer screen all night pricing parts that I need for my car. It adds up fast.

Please don't call me that

it would prob. be better to get a boost controller if you funding a race car, then just use the welder on base.

did you weld your fmic piping?

i just changed my suspension to JDM JIC (not JIC Magic) coilovers. My baby is 2.5' off the ground in the front. And i also changed my USDM gauge cluster to the JDM one, which is still hard for me to get used to. I did everything myself and took my about 7 hours all together. pictures coming soon.

2-3 months down the road, ill be putting ca18 in my car with a upgraded s13 turbo (t25), some injectors and a fmic. friend of mine already done that and i think for a daily drive car, its more than enough for me. decent power but reliable. about 230 whp! hopefully i can get it done before the meet!

you could do without changing the injectors for the whp, unless you really want to.

mine came with a sr t25, so im pretty stoked about that...

How's the planning coming along for the next meet guys? This one was fun(not quite as much went on as the first one but still great times). I'm stoked that there was actually a chick with a 240 here! That was worth the drive all by itself. Chick w/ 240sx = hottness. Chick w/ S14 = MEGA HOTTNESS.

I think a big BBQ or Pinic style would be more suitable. It's cheap and can feed a lot of people. Let me know what kind of help you might need.

Alright guys, here is what is going to go down! The first ever San Diego meet will be held on either the 17th of next month, or the 24th of next month. I need y'all to decide the location, which has to be a good one for every1, and things we are going to do! Let me know where are the best locations out there!!! Here is what I think:

1)Meet up around 3-4 pm, then we will take some pictures, talk to everyone, go curise, then we can go to a buffet for dinner! Then we can go to GO KART (yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh).

2)Meet up around 2 pm, BBQ (i only have one grill and i really need some of you to bring grills. Also, please bring your own food to BBQ), take some pictures, talk to everyone and get to know them. Then we can go curise and go the GO KART!

I opt for #2 - I myself can bring a portable grill and bring some cheap food to share with others, but I doubt I can afford to feed everyone.

Signing up-1 - Yeap

I spoke to the person @ balboa park and he said that it is going to be first come first serve policy, so if we decide to go there, please show up early. Also, when I was trying to reach balboa park management, somehow I talked to a guy from a local newspaper and magezine. He said that he will be there to take some pictures and post them on newspaper. YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh. its gonna be sick!!!!!
