Hey fellas, I will be attending my first dyno day on Sunday I get three pulls. I wanted to get some stock numbers put on paper before I started doing performance improvements to the G. So my question is, what gear should I have the guys at the shop use during the pulls? See my most powerful gear on my old Saab used to be 3rd. But that was with a 5 speed. I was thinking maybe I should use 4th or 5th. For those of you guys with this type of experience this goes out to you. Thanks for your time guys. Regards, Bryan

Welcome to NICO!!

Not sure what gear to use...but do a nice write-up on it and I'll hook you up with a custom title! Let us know!

Be sure and post up pics of both your G's in the members ride thread!

I find 1st gear needs to be changed rather quickly.

2nd gear and 3rd gear roar nicely up to at 6000RPM

Not sure if it's because of my mods tho... can't remember what it was like before my bolt ons..

Good luck and please post the results!!

Not sure about which gear either, as I just got my G on monday. but definitely post up your dyno sheet when you get it. I'd love to see another stock curve.

It all depends. I would use the higher gear because in the higher gear you can avoid some of the transmission losses. Also if you are using a longer run you can avoid flash reading(cold crankcase). If you dyno it on second gear or third you'll have different reading. Also your engine power band is on the higher side it likes to rev up. Use high RPM. You have to know your car/engine before you dyno it.

We'll need etails and pics and videos. I am getting ready.

Hey guys, I attended Slowmotion Motorsports Annual Dyno Day today here in Columbus, OH. I knew that the first dyno pull would start at noon with signups starting at 11, I showed up at 9:30 and was the first one there. I spent an hour shooting the ish with a bunch of gear heads, which was a great deal of fun for me. I was very impressed with the amount of competition there. Cars ranged from stock civics and celicas to an oldsmobile cutlass throwing down in the 500s. There were a great deal of turboed civics there which were in the 300s - 500s range. I felt pretty lonely until another G showed up with a twin turbo set-up. I went right back to being lonely when I found out he was throwing down numbers just shy of 600s.

The really nice guy in the cutlass kept telling me not to worry because what ever I lacked on the dyno, the G made up by being the best looking car there.

It was pretty cool, after my three pulls the owner of the shop took the time to talk to me about some of the options available for the G. He was telling me about the twin turbo set up he had done for the other G there. He said he wanted to get me back in the shop soon so we could go over some options for her. I think he wants to start getting some nissan/infiniti projects under his belt.

She pulled: 234 whp and 238 lbft

- Dyno Slip

- First Pull (only watch the first half)

- Second and Third Pulls

- The twin turboed G

- Pic of my G

Thanks guys, Bryan

Just click on the "image code" portion of the picture. It will automatically copy it...then paste on the entry space in the forum.

This is what it looks like without the IMG html tags (direct link):

Definitely don't feel bad or embarrassed. You have a HAWT car!! All the other cars have a significant amount of $$$$ invested in them to bring those kind of numbers. All of that is possible for you too if you have the $$$. Always remember... there will ALWAYS be a faster car out there anyways.

Thanks for sharing the info. Sounds like a fun day!
