tonight was a wet night, and i had my first experience drifting. unfotunatly it wasnt in a nissan at all, american actualy. a few of my friends had there big 350 chevy trucks out. one has a LSD the other is open i think. anyway, that was FUN...they both had good control and could exit real well. i was in my friends 77 caprice clasic at the time, that thing even slid well! i just wish that the kid took his camaro out instead of the truck...NOW THAT THING SLIDES!

and later on we succeded in sliding a fwd volvo, dont ask

alright..well it was this gurls FWD volvo 940 (auto)... so i took the keys and we took it for the spin. it was just slipery enough where if i didnt turn to sharp i could get a nice slide going and avoid the stupid understear. we got that thing almost completely sideways but was able to keep it from completely spinnin around because there was no way to really control the back end too much. because of that the exits were horible, it consisted of us pretty much just letting off the gas and gettin it back to normal..not exactly the perfect drift, but suprising.

Umm if you giving a front wheel drive gas with the wheels ****ed counteracting a spin it will just pull out and maybe spin the other way. The only way to control a slide (read not drift) is to counter steer and tap the gas to keep the front evenly sideways. But even at that unless your HAULING *** it will just slow down to a stop. In RWD when your spinning tire using the gas to control a drift, part of the forward motion of the car is pushed into keeping the car going around the turn which is why you dont just slide to a stop.

exactly why i said dont ask, it cant be considered drifting at all, an dyeah your right about the counter stearing, that was the easiest way to get the volvo sideways, just keep turnin the wheel different ways. kinda pointless. i wish i could have had my 240 out
