Finally got around to getting my front seat belts replaced [lifetime warranty] as they were slow to retract and hung loose at times.

[Those in Atlanta might call David at Gwinett he seems to be able to accept all comers if you spread it out..... one a month or so!

Strange feeling to see the car inside another bay and to get a free detailing [wash] .

The dealer billed the factory $330 plus for the work pretty good on a an almost 13 year old car.

The computer had my name and address but no history [had been purged].

5 years and 4 months having T3 do all the work since the 100k/7 year extended warranty ran out....yikes $20,000.....but only 15 cents per mile.

The M45 was a hoot, nice driving car well worth the money......guess I have to start working on finding another 50-80 lb/ft to get the old Q equal..........where to fit a 5 psi Eaton

I'm curious about this because that I30 we bought recently has the same problem on the drivers side. It just doesn't retract and you have to feed it back into the sleeve everytime you get out so it doesn't get shut in the door. Are these all covered by the manufacturer for lifetime?

"Q2" has the same seatbelt problem... I was wondering if that would be covered under the lifetime warranty. Do they replace all four as a set, or only the fronts?

Thanks!

I as well am having this problem on a 94 Altima I have. Seatbelts need to be fed back onto the the b-pillar most of the time. Are Nissan's included in the lifetime warranty or is that striclty an Infiniti thing? I may check my manual and see what it says.

I think it is a DOT compelled warranty for the life of the vehicle.

So you got a good test drive out of it? Pleased with steering/handling? I'm sure it has plenty of power.

I hope they sell poorly and get discounted to about the price of a loaded G35 (then I can afford).

:D

I hope they sell/lease well so 3 years from now there will be a glut at 45-50% or less of new MSRP.It will still be a really nice car for $18-19-20,000.

I'm with Q45tech.

Remember, the Generation One (1990-1996 President G50 based model) sold about 50K units per year.

I don't think there will be many bargains in five years at only 5K units per year.

The infiniti belts are warranted for life, I had a problem with 97 and I brought it to the dealership and asked if it was covered by my extended warrenty. He said, "this is covered for life by the factory" I do NOT think this is a DOT requirement, I doubt your Nissan will be covered but it doesn't cost anything to call your local dealership and find out...let me know what you find out, I'd love to get more free stuff for my 1984 300ZX, those new fuel injectors in 1996 were way cool!!! My Z is in great condition for a car that was a daily driver for 10 years and now does sunday and backup duty.

"the Generation One (1990-1996 President G50 based model) sold about 50K units per year."

1991 Q model was the peak sales year [12 month period] and around 15,000 units were sold! The 2002 Q barely made 4,000 sales in the first 12 months. And the 93 and 96 were 'short years' at more than doubled that!If the G35 is turning 3,000 per month M45 sales of 1000 per month would be enough.

I stand corrected! I haven't found the original source, but now what I think it was quoting were total Infniti sales. I was wondering why the Q45 was such a failure at 50K units per year (duh).

For 1990, sales were about 25K units, so 15K Q45s is a good number. Sales didn't rise to 50K until 1993.

It would be interesting to have actual sales per year for individual models to see what the size of the pool is from which we are culling our cars.

It amazes me that there are still some cherry ones out there at all.

About the seat belts, there is no infiniti dealer in town, but there is a nissan dealer. Will they be able to fix my seatbelts, because the front ones are slow to retract and one of the rear ones is completely stuck.

Wes:

Your Nissan dealer should be able to fix your seatbelts just fine.He may or may not have to wait an extra day for an infinit part, (but then, they might be identical)

Fred...:)

If this is true, I'm going to call my dealer tomorrow. I'm so tired of the seatbelts hanging loose. Thanks for the info Dennis. You should have taught a couple of Q sessions to the techs there during your visit.

Nick :)

You might find info about seat belt warantee in the owner's manual.
