Hey everyone, this is my first post on a car related forum so bear with me :P. I'm 16, and yes I know what your thinking...probly just some dumb kid who wants to slap a 3foot alum spoiler and decals on a car blah blah blah... No thats me not me fortunately.

Anyways, I've been looking into getting a 91-93 S13 for while now, and have also been thinking of the various engine. I've been reading about the advantages of the KA over the SR and vice versa etc...But I have to ask you pros one thing: Would you really recomment a first time car owner to do an engine swap? Is it financially do able...and really is it worth it if I really have no previous car experience? When I get a an S13 (yea its all talk as of right now :(), I want to do it right the first time, so I need some advice. Any help would be awesome. Thanks alot.:D :help

i think you should get the 240 and save your money. once you get used to your car and ready for more power, then do the swap. but its your car so you can do anything you want with it. oh yeah, welcome =)

Save save save save. Don't do the swap when ur a first time driver. once you get used to the car then start planning for the swap. Well good sr engine will run you about 2k install about 800+ and about 500-1000 in mic parts. Could be more could be less just depends on what you want to do.

Yeah, just get the car and drive around till you get used to it. If you need more power, do the swap OR you could stay with the engine and go TURBO!!......(why do i feel powerful sayin that)Oh yeah, welcome.

Keep the car

Learn how to drive it well (autocross is your friend, as are drifting events)

Save money and read up about every aspect there is about the engine options.

Formulate your own plan and follow it out.
