first attempt at turbo manifold collector - pics

thinking about the construction of a turbo manifold for my CA18DET has been bouncing around my head, i want to go do a welding course and make the dam thing myself, i know how i would cut the pipe to make the collector, how the pipes would bend, everything.... i have made mock ups on the computer, even in 3d.

ok so i was BORED, really bored, last night, 2 rolls of toilet paper, one bounty roll and some masking tape later i made what you see here...

the rolls are ~1 5/8" ithink, about the port size of a CA18, now i can just rip it apart and measure the angles, make masks of the cut areas and get the measurements for the collector...

ok maybe not :) i think i better go do the welding coure first.. but i will finish the cardboard manifold of course!

nah, just cover that with some of that high temp tape stuff and you'll be fine.

in my idleness i actually tried to solder them together, i was a bit embarrased to mention that :) just thought that the metal beads would have looked cool..

just use it in duct tape and it'll last 100k mi
