FIRE??

ok so my moms friend is sellin a 79 280. now she said that the car runs fine but its gonna need tweaking and a bunch of other stuff. now thats not the problem here she also said they have a habit of catching on fire and u hve to carry a fire extingusher (sp?). so thats what i wanna know what are some facts about it. also she said the engine might need a new engine harness because of the heat and stuff. personally i think she doesnt know sh1t. but yeh i wanted to get some info. btw how mcuh should i pay. its stock and its gonna need new rotors and pads. lmk guys need some info not familiar with 280's. idk if ima keep it i was thinkin get it and drive it for a while and then sell it and get my 240.

I've heard of the earlier cars having fire problems but havn't heard much about fires in the 79 and newer (280ZXs)I have 2 79s and havn't had a temperature/fire problem with either.

if it's catching on fire, there is a feul leak or something is toucning the exhaust manifold, either way fix the problem and you won't be cdriving a bomb!

depends on a lot of variables....anywhere from 500-3000 dependant on condition

yeah, is the car in good condition? is it ragged? and just to be clear a 79-83 would be a 280ZX, not the same as a 75-78 280Z, it matter
