Well, i was enjoying my day, about to go over to the garage and get everything hooked up on my car and ready to wire when i get a phonecall from my friend saying that the house my car is in caught on fire! i flew over there as fast as i could, but they wouldnt let us in to see anything, so we went around back where the whole wall was burned off and i could see my car. all i could see was some scorch marks on the back of it, but other than that it didnt look too bad. Once they let us in they gave us 10 minutes to get everything out of the garage. The harness was a little melted but think it is salvageable, the ecu is soaked, but ill get it dried out, and here are some pictures of the car after i got it out. Paint is gone on most the back, the moonroof is cracked, all the weather stipping melted, taillights and bumper melted(gonna use that as an excuse to get r32 tails) For being so close to getting her running, i am once again so far away and need to find a place to work on her again. here are some pictures i took after i got her out of the garage. Please pour one out for the RB:(

Damn..sorry to hear man. Glad it's at least salvageable, unlike Parker's house and their dog that didn't make it out.

Any insurance on the car?

I feel for you, but look at this way. The car is 15 years old, so you would probably end up replacing most of that stuff soon anyway. Everytime I do something to my car, I end up finding a bushing. or weather stripping, carpet, seats, dash, moonroof, or some other crap that I have to replace :( ,but that is why they call it a project car.

I might be able to help you on the moonroof. The Pick n pull by where I live has a couple that are still intact. If you can't find a replacement locally, I could probably pick one up for you the next time I go and you could just pay me cost plus shipping. RB guys got to take care of each other, specially in a time of need.

No i dont think its too bad. I have some work ahead of me, and its going to cost a lot more than i had planned for this project now, but at least the engine is ok. Now i have to decide if im going to keep the 2 tone, or go all one solid color. What are your opinions?

check out http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com under Project Cars and look at their Flat black Silvia. You could do that to your car. That way you can spend the 1200 to 2000 on repairs and $50 on paint :) Love that license plate!

Hey NISMO_RB25, I am very new to this forum and live in northwest Austin. I have never done any modifications to my '92 240SX SE Coupe (original owner), but am seriously considering swapping an RB25DET with the stock engine. May I come and see your project car? We can take this discussion off-line if you like (you can email me at [email protected]). Thanks!John
