I had purchased a carburetor on amazon to replace the original. PO damages the origanal. Was wondering if anyone had tried this carb and if so did it work out for you

Welcome to NICO!
If no one here has tried that one out, you should post some pictures of the change and post your results.

Thanks for the welcome, I installed it and the results isn’t what I expected. So I went ahead and ordered a OEM carb. Hoping some one would’ve been able to change my mind.

When installed timing is way off can’t set it cause it’s to restarted. Lags lots off power and have to hold gas in for a few seconds to rev it up. What do you think it may be? Do you thing distributor was set wrong from P.O.?

Is the carb adjustable? The carb should just control the air fuel ratio. If its sluggish, you're probably rich or lean, or your timing is off.
Set your timing first (if it will stay running), then adjust the carb.

I adjusted the fuel and air, tried to adjust the timing but it won’t reach 3deg. It reaches its max turn on the adjustment. I may have to rest the distributor. What do you think? Thanks again for you help.

Yeah you may be off a tooth. Does it run best when the distributor is hard-over (as clocked as it will go)?

mac, I've seen this ANGLE before , hope it's not yours too, where previous owner sells under the "guise" that " it's the WHATEVER is what's only wrong with the car" - after purchasing , and whilst trying to fix it you DISCOVER :bs: WHOLE_LOTTA CRAP wrong with it. Happened to my neighbor! :tisk: Hell, try and take it back ? IF 'n it's waaay more messed up than presented.

PapaSmurf2k3. Yes, it was a tooth of. Got under there and reset the distributor and oil pump and now has the power and good idle, but this carburetor just doesn’t work as expected. It sticks like you touching the gas pedal till I push down on the lever on the carb manually. I’ll just intall the refurb carb. But I do want to thank you for all your help.

I do not know anything about the carb you speak of.

I do know that the 85 carbed trucks stock have an electronic feedback carb that feeds information to the ECM.

I do not bother with the stock carb when it starts having problems I order a Weber 32/36 from Pierce Manifolds. I install it tune it and drive it like I stole it.

Trouble with buying parts of this nature from Amazon is you have no support> Pierce Manifolds Knows Datsuns and Nissans so they do provide support for the products they sell.

Have a great day.
