I stopped at my Infiniti dealer today to get a gallon of Nissan Longlife Coolant, which is recommended in my owners manual. My intention is to replace the coolant in my 2002 I35 myself, as it's 3 years old this month. When I got home, I noticed the jug says Nissan Engine Coolant, L248SP. Not a word about longlife. Is this the correct coolant?

Isn't the Nissan longlife orange? What color is it?

The Nissan orange stuff is basically GM Dexcool rebranded. Compare a Dexcool bottle and a Nissan bottle and you'll find out both are manufactured under the same company at the same place.

The coolant that came in my infiniti is green, so that must be the L248SP, since it's also green.

I flushed out the old green and switched over to orange dexcool a few months ago. doubt it makes much of a difference, but it didnt cost much more. took forever to get it running clear though
