I've read the mega camshaft thread and half been researching both turbo and cam combination's for a while now. Not many have my set up and the few that do don't give opinons. I just want a few opinions. I have a s13 blacktop SR20 getting built up. The head has had a 5 angle valve job and a port and polish done. It has new oem hydraulic liifters, valve seals and rocker arms with isis rocker arm stoppers. also has BC springs and titianium retainers Its also going to be getting the jim wolfe tune so the cars redline will be 7800 rpm. this car is a dd. I want an overall power gain throughout the RPM range as jim wolf seems to promise with the S3 cams. But the tome procam 260's seem plausible too. And would settling with a S3's or tomei not fully benefit all the machine work ive done including my isis manifold. Im going to be running a GT2871R .64 and wondered i anyone thinks there is a better cam set up than this for this car. The main thing is i dont want to sacrifice any more torque unless the gain in horsepower is substantial in comparison. Also will S3 cams or more aggressive cams work well with hydraulic lifters at 7800 rpms or are they gonna be prone to aerate. im not switching to solid lifters already shelled 360 for new hydraulics. and on the jim wolf site it doesn't mention S3's for use with the 240sx. It says it matches the sentra's gear spread. just wondering thanks for anybody with any suggestions.

well i would say the 264's would just the right cam to better the bottom and mid end.

picking which brand would be considering the fact of bc's are regrinds and tomei, hks, greddy are not. I have heard lots of good things about bc though, my friend has bc head internals and 270 cams with hks t25 and made 300 easy and the bottom end power was amazing and to better a build like that with a gt28 and 264 cams, your golden man..

just dyno tune it and pull out a little timing and she will be a beast

what kinda manifold do u mean intake or turbo? if u plan on making less than 400hp and leave it a dd then no need to swap manifolds just have a port match job done to help flow rates the long tube runners of stock intake are what gives us the tq numbers if you swap to a short runner you gain a lil hp but lose greatly on your tq i went thru the greddy manifold swap was a waste of money and time.stick with stock unless u r lokkn for better than 400hp

Iv'e heard nothing but good things about the JWT S3 cams. I run HKS step 264 cams and they are beast. Gave me a real nice torque curve with the Stock intake mani. From what i hear the S3 S4 cams form JWT are awesome and tomei poncams are nice as well. If you can afford the JWT cams i would buy them. Also if your running the 2871 .64 i would look into running a 264 on the intake side and 272 on the exhaust. The turbo is going to spool nice and fast and that 272 will help it alot without giving up alot of mid-range torque and power.
