I had some leftover low gloss engine paint(rattle can) I used on my last car. Definitely scuff up the chrome or it won't stick very well. I have more pics on my camera that I'll load up when I get home. I also forgot to take pics of the Stillen hood dampeners I installed yesterday.Frozer!!! wrote:Looks pretty cool...need frontal shots lol. I was thkning of doing somethign similar but didnt know what to do with the chrome burger this gives me ideas. Did you rattle bomb it or use a gun?
Actually, my SLR took such humongous pics, Photobucket was having a hard time uploading them.LongBeachCoupe wrote:hes rubbing his hands together laughing at us... he knows hes got us hanging from posting a sideways pic like that lol...
That would require taking it to a paint shop & I'm way too cheap for that. My dealership doesn't even have touch up paint for my car yet.Scott21384 wrote:I think you should paint the mustache the color of the car and not black. I did mine black bu have a black car it looks amazing!!IMO
Softer than our factory paint?600hppot wrote:Expect to redo it in a few months, especially if you wash it weekly.
The rattle can stuff is very very soft compared to the factory clear coat. Wears out super fast, fading out and swirling all over.
Trust me, i've done experiments.
I used the low gloss w/ clear coat & it has a nice low sheen. Sand down the chrome a little for adhesion & you'll be fine. I may put a few more coats on this weekend. Thanks everybody!LongBeachCoupe wrote:I must say... i think it looks friggin fantastic! Im not sure how the flat black would look with my car... maybe id have to gloss it... but the painted nissan with red is insane...
