I have an 89 240sx with a CA18DET swap. The wiring has been done exactly like an SR20DET, im getting gas and spark, but it wont start. I am getting fuel to the injectors, they are all spraying, but when the car is cranking they stop spraying. When i connect the red wire from the dropping resister to a 12v source, the car will start, but misfiring. the car is perfectly grounded. Does anyone have any suggestions on what the problem might be?

It's almost wired like the SR, but not completely. Bottm line is, it's not wired correctly and it will be very hard to give you solid advice unless we had something to look at. At worst case scenario, you may have to have the harness looked-over by someone who has a better idea of how it works. Sounds to me like your injectors are not getting any power based on the test you say you did.

i followed the old heavy throttle wiring guide, but that site is gone and the link lost in the essence of the internet..if anybody can source it, its a good way to check your wiring, as i haven't seen a better one than that EVER. try going over the wiring again with the one on http://www.frsport.com and see if that helps.

we checked the wiring tonite with a voltometer and everything looked good,we started the car after cleaning the spark plugs and it is still misfiring(im getting new spark plugs tomorrow anyways), we tried moving the CAS a little bit and the car ran much better without misfiring, we set it back to factory tho, what do you guys suggest i should do if the spark plugs dont fix the misfiring?

Got another problem now, the car was idleing while was adjusting the cas, i go to turn off the car but the car turned off itself, i cranked it again but the car would act like the battery was disconnected(no lights, no acc, no click, no nothing) i checked the terminals, grounds, fuses and relays but everything looks perfect, im getting 12v everywhere, but the car acts like there was no battery at all, i been trying to fix this since yesterday with no luck, did any of you guys had a problem like this before?

so you had the CAS all set and everything and it was idleing good? just tryin too narrow things down..

it sounds like it could be something in the ignition switch or around there..do you get 12V to everything when the key is turned to ACC and ON, or just when its off?

i was adjusting it, i didnt get a chance to set the timming, the car is acting like the if the battery was disconected, i dont get power at all. While i was testing a relay with a 12v wire and a groung wire they accidentally touch each other(just a little bit) and for some reason the power was back on, so im asuming there is a short somewhere but i dont know where yet
