I have a tape adapter for my XM Roady. Over a 2000 mile road trip, it decided to stop playing. I have to diligently hit eject to eject it, then hit play over and over until it played. It sounds like its stuck and trying to play at the end of a tape. I have two tape adapters and both do the same. I tried another Bose head unit from a 91 Maxima but had the same problem.

To get it to play or eject properly, I have to turn the ignition off and on two or three times.

What do you guys think is going on?

dont the roady's have a fm modulator built in or was it just the roady2's? i would recommend using that. the sound quality is great, gives you room to use a tape if you want to and also helps keep the dash uncluttered. as for your problem, im not to sure. it really only could be either the radio or the tape adapter, and you seem to have tried both. next step would be to get your hands on another roady and see if that fixes your problem. good luck.
