New to the forum, but have been reading it for a while. I did some searching and found posts about using a fuse tap to get a power source that gets switched on when the car is started. I used a multimeter and couldn't find any fuse that wasn't a constant 12V with the power off, and guessed that the car is probably wired: battery positive->fuse->switch->ground, so unless I can tap into the other side of the switch between it and the ground, I'm going to always see 12V, which means always powered, whether the car is on or not. I'm trying to install DRLs, and at this point it looks like I'm going to have to pull a line from the cabin to use as a source. Any location under the hood that I can pull switched power?

I have a 2015 rogue and recently rant into the same issue, or so I thought. I couldn't seem to find "switched power" anywhere, not even at the cigarette lighter fuse. When I turned off the car, everything seemed to remain constantly powered!? This made no sense.

After a while I sat in the car with despair trying to find power for my dashcam... I wanted it to turn on with the car and turn off with the car.

As I sat there, I noticed that after about a couple of minutes, my multi-meter went from 12V to Zero. Hooray! Seems that the rogue has a delay which leaves everything powered for a few minutes after you turn off the car for some reason. So pick any common switched fuse like the cigarette lighter, you will be fine. Only problem is that whatever you are powering will remain powered for a couple of minutes after parking. For my dash cam that is fine, for your DRL's, personal preference I guess.

P.S. Power is restored as soon as you unlock the doors even before you start the car.

NOTE: This is on a 2015, not sure if its the same for your year

On my car I think it's the "Power Socket" in the interior fuse box lower right dashboard. Is that the fuse you mean?

You can also use this, It behind the front passenger side kick panel. At least the 2016 it was.

I decided to go with a fuse tap on the ABS fuse, mainly because it was one of the few switched fuse locations, and where the tap would fit (either too close to the edge or near wire bundles). Thanks for the replys.
