I need to find a 1994-8 240SX and I've looked all over the used car sites.. like every single site I've tried.. even 100 miles from my zip.. do I have to get a magazine to look in to find it? Or would it not be in there either?

I'm thinking about buying one then replacing the engine with a JDM SR20DET S14 and some other stuff.

welcome, to nico, try autotrader.com and ebay.com. Bought my car on ebay and it took me 4 mos of searching! Those 2 are the best sites!

ebay can be your best friend, or your worst enemy. now autotrader is more of a hit and miss kinda deal.

Be very careful on eBay though. I wouldn't buy anything without checking it out/getting a test drive first.

I got lucky when I found mine - riding down some country road on a Sunday afternoon with my dad and there is a '91 coupe with a big nice FOR SALE sign in the window parked in a cop's yard.

I got lucky with mine... found a guy on ebay that was selling the car that lived 45 mins away from me. He literally had TONS n TONS of offers to take it off ebay, which he eventually did and I didnt have time to go look at the car but I had to pay before other guys can so I offered 6500 cash and it had about 63k miles and thats how I endedup getting mine.

Its really cut throat when it comes to buying a 240

It took me about 2 months to find a 240. But ever since I've had mine I see a million of them driving around town.

If I were to do a SR20DET S14 swap, is there a certain year of 240sx that I must have?

This is crucially important cause I found some but ones 1991 and 1-2 are 1989.

It took me forever to find one. I opened up a small sale paper and saw a 95 being advertised for 4100 at a dealer, good condition 5spd. I drove there and bought it that same day for 3150! NOTHING wrong with it! Since then I've only need the brakes worked on abit.

Basically, you just need to keep searching, the deals are out there.

its all about fate in my believe. I waited around 4 months for my first 240SX, but just a few days ago I had 3 of them. sold one for 50 bucks, used one for parts, and kepted the other. the 50 bucks one runs fine too. although a ferder does not matcht the rest of the car. now 4 of us got 240's. and now 240's pop up all over the place here (in R.I.) in better condition and cheaper than mine.

Anyways, I say you'll likely find one. but honestly who knows.

Whats really sad is 2 months after I bought mine there was one advertised in Owasso in unbelievable condition. Get this : 1993 240sx coupe, red, 45k original miles, garage kept, owned by some old lady. If only I could have waited But seriously, I think we've all seen 240s pop out of the wood work after we've bought ours.

I found a 1989 one for 2,995 and its in pretty good condition and would look great and would be perfect but is that price too much or what... I went on Kelly Blue Book and of course my luck they said a car like that would be worth 860 bucks. I picked myself up a Autotrader magazine and of course none were there... It seems there arn't any around me, should I call the guy whos selling it and ask them if the price changed?

I found my '95 240sx with 40k through autotrader.com. Took me about 6 months of constant checking. I mean I was a bit obsessive bout it. /blush

Anyways when i did find it, the guy had about 15 emails and 7-8 phone calls. When I saw it I knew I couldn't get the price down and bought it. Luckily I did, someone came in while i was filling out the paperwork asking if it was still for sale.....

I had agreed to buy mine within 2 hrs of the guy listing it on autotrader. It's a '98 Silver Moss 5spd LE, perfect cond., 62k on it at the time, guy was asking $9800, which I immediately agreed to.

After I bought it, he got an offer for like $12,000+shipping from someone over on the West Coast, and several more local offers, all over $10k.

On Kelly Blue Book it says a car in the shape I'm looking at is like 865 bucks.. should I not rely on that or should I go by it?

I've been looking ever since i posted it.. on every site, all variations of different years and distances.. i found one gray one thats auto but I guess i can change the transmission to manual then im changing the engine to a SR20DET S13, or should i do the S14 for 2550, or the S13 for 1500?

I got my 93 hatch for only 2150 in mint condition with about 39,000 miles on it. I happen to look in the local news paper to find a car since i totaled out my 89 camaro RS and just had enough to buy the 240.Just happen that the owner was a dealer at a local car lot.

Took the car for a drive around the block once and new that it needed working but it was worth it since most 12 year old cars are going to need some type of work done on them. And know I see lots of 240's in my area.one or two coupes, drop tops, hatchbacks.

I found another one for sale but not sure how much it looks like it is in the 90's since it has the pig noise and it is a coupe witha redish pink paint job and I am thinking of buying it off the dealer that has it but not sure of it yet.

looked at the 240sx coupe today and found out they wanted 3995 for the car and I don't think it is worth that much do to the inside conditon of the car and it needs alot of inside work but the bodys is in good shape not sure what year it was forgot to ask about that.I am not going to buy that car at this time since he does not except payments other wise I would try to get the coupe. But if any one is interested in the coupe it is setting in Clinton,Ia at Roys repair shop for imports. There number is 563-243-3372 they are open untile 5pm every day except the weekends.

Took 3 months of scouring autotrader every day. Finally got lucky, found a new listing late one night, checked it out the next day, and bought it the day after. When I bought it, the guy said he already had 8 offers on it. You gotta act fast and be ready to buy

apparently any 240 for sale is rare around here. Mine sat at the shop for a month while i got up supplies to fix it. it was hidden in the back with no signs or anything on it, and it was dirty as hell, still got 5 offers on it. I get people every week that wanna buy mine from me. Never gonna sell it/
