Well PS3 is getting Netflix. I know two people with Netflix accounts and I have used it on Xbox, not really to appealing, but it is better then DLing a random movie @ the last minute to entertain company

Edit:MODS/ADMINS, can you change the thread's name to"Find out how Playstation is becoming more like Xbox"

Unless Netflix Instant queue has improved DRAMATICALLY since last summer, I couldn't possibly care less about Netflix integration on anything. If there's nothing worth streaming, there's no point in a device to stream it.

Yup Netflix is one of those services that seems like a really good idea on paper but isnt half as good in reality. Used it a couple of times....wasnt impressed.

I do find it funny the title of the thread is "you can read".Yet MS is about to start the Push for their Instant On 1080P Streaming content, which is separate from Netflix.Maybe thats why Netflix made the Jump to PS3?

P.S Im not fond of the Instant On idea.....yeah ill get newer movies in HD than Netflix streaming....but at 4 bucks a pop....thats highway robbery compared to a Netflix account which has unlimited streaming on the console.

Retardation:

Apparently the PS3 and Wii versions of this netflix "integration" (which is nothing of the sort) require you to use a Netflix DISC and have it in the drive any time you want to watch netflix content. Integration my a**.

Netflix claims they are looking into a real software solution but it will not happen until sometime LATE in 2010. What a joke.

So not only is there nothing worth watching, but you have to have the Netflix disc in the drive to watch any of it.

Sounds like a real winner.

I sometimes rented HD movies from the PS store for like a 3 bux, that netflix disc is silly.

Still limited compared to their disc selection, but if you have an account that allows for streaming, then you also get access to their collection on disc. For the most part, it works well for me though. Most of what I watch on instant queue are older movies that I don't care to spend money on. They also have a ton of TV series, and since I've never had cable, I'm able to actually watch some of the series I've missed. Namely Mythbusters at the moment. I can also supplement newer movies with the disc program. And if its worth owning, I just buy the movie. So it fits my lifestyle well.

I really thought the TV streaming would be awesome, but the selection is just as useless there. I'd love to watch House anytime without paying for the DVDs. But...nope. You can't stream that. It's only on DVD. Same story with pretty much everything I had a desire to watch. If they had multiple seasons of Monk and House and Psych available for streaming, I'd subscribe in a second. But they don't.

I didn't realize that only certain content was available streamed, I thought it was everything.

That's incredibly lame. Why even do it then?
