If you think stock 240's are "fast as fu*k" then you'll jizz your pants if you rode in like a WRX, or 350z lol

i'm confused at this thread..

Did you just pull the engine, or what? I would recommend a VLSD, or some sort of limited slip differential, yes, but what are your plans for this car?

I don't know what you've been driving the past 37 years of your life, but that SOHC 240sx of yours is not fast, but it could be.

this car just handled so well and like i said its my first four cylinder and i just didn't expect anything and it would actually get up and go.I decided to rebuild the engine (with some upgrades) the body is going to the collision repair shop next week. I'll be putting on the body kit also next week. then, of course on to the paint. most of the interior is in great condition and I'll probably put new seats in eventually.I'm here to get advice on the mods and such from someone who knows because this is my first nissan. As far as what I've been driving, my first car was a1970 camaro with a 350 bored 40 ,280 comp cam 700cfm holley, edelbrock performer 2, hooker headers on 305 heads, 1500 stall, and thats what I have always thought to be the things that make power. After that I only bought trucks for work so they pulled strong not fast. Straight 6 ford 300 is one of my favorites for strength.Furthermore, who says the engine is stock yet, I've owned the car for less than two weeks and I just got the engine out last night.I assume its never been rebuilt but I'll know at least by next week.

okay....I don't really care about your "homies" car and how "ballin" it is. Obviously you didn't understand my statement.

I would strip the hell out of that shell, and scrap it. Then find a clean shell, because that is going to be a good amount of body hours to fix.

I do not understand what this thread is all about.

As OutToWin said, there is a lot of work involved to fix that damage.

this thread is exactly that. I need help from experienced nissan drivers.Finding a shell, though, is easier said than done and I do have a bodywork certified welder at my disposal.

Is it really that hard to find a shell in your area? That is a ton of work, even for a professional.

And, did you get the transmission question figured out? I can get pics of mine if that would help.

Smith. 200s are every where but I don't like the look.I'm not in a hurry to get it back I just want it to look and run sweeeeeet when it's done. did my car come stock with flat top pistons?

I do believe there is a point, with regard to the serial number stamped on the block, when the compression ratio changes. Find the serial number on your block and see what pistons you have....if that is your question You can search for this info on Nico- it is on here. I have read the thread before, but did not bookmark it, sorry. I will see if I can find it again though.

just make sure you do all of the general maintainence/upkeep while the body is being repaired- bushings, plugs, wires, etc. pick up some dual e-fans while your at it. check over everything before you do any performance upgrades. you know, make it reliable before you make it naughty

nothing to be scared of. do you change your own oil? if so, you can easily perform most of the basic maintainence. do the work that you feel comfortable with and learn your way around the car- get to know it. there is a ton of info on nico. do not try to do anything that you are not comfortable with. do you have a friend that can lend a hand? its a 20 year old car, so its good to check everything. make sure you are confident of its mechanical reliability and do your best to find the answer on your own before asking. people tend to get upset with non-searchers.

here is a good reference to review:

I've almost got it stripped. Any shell I do will be done from the beginning and I won't put a peice in it that I don't believe in. I'm here because of the knowledge that flows through the threads. This is my engine just before dinner.

thats what I meant by "are flat tops stock in 89". I just didn't expect this.As for duffmans coment ,90 mph in a beer can body with a bad seat belt is less than desireable,LOL I never drifted any damn way. I'm lost, yes, but I'm lost in NICOOOOO

Gabby is from FL and I am pretty sure she was searching for shells in your area.
