I've spent a couple months now looking for a Z in my price range. I decided to screw my 15 thousand price range and heightened it to 16,000. And thats exactly what i paid. Its a 2005 touring with 29,400 miles, a stick, and seems to be in great condition. I put down my down payment, and now I just have to get it inspected before I pay the other 15,000. Im not getting too excited yet incase it doesn't work out, but I couldn't help but brag . Please, if anyone lives in long island, ny, please give me the number to your mechanic. I need to get her inspected and I'll say you referred me to help you out. Thanks in advance

Great deal, hope it checks out for you man.

R350Zz33, to my understanding all the 2005 models have 287 horsepower except the enthusiast and track editions. The thing that makes me question the year of the car are the rims, they look like the rims off of the 2003 edition...

the guy said they are "18-Inch Aluminum Alloy Wheels." I don't know Zs enough to tell the difference by the rims. What makes them look like a later model?

^ that supposed to say "I hope you ran a carfax on it before the purchase." And I did, and one accident showed up. The seller told me he hit the fender, but it was an easy replacement and runs like new. Because i trust him as much as you guys do, Im getting it inspected this week right before I hand over a fat check.

Yeah people pay attention CARFAX's dont tell you everything all the time. A vehicle can be wrecked and not reported to the DMV and fixed for cash and sold anywhere. Have it checked first all the time on any car.

red, white and blue are my favorite colors for the Z (ironic).... i wouldn't say i dislike black, but guys who own black, keep them clean because there are two i see a lot around here and both of them are always disgusting. And the silver and grey is nice too, but red white and blue are equally tied for my fav's...

If anyone cars (i'm a post whore) lol

Off the top of my head, the 05's had both engines available. IIRC, it was the track and Anniversary models that got the rev-up motor and all others had the 287 HP version.

The original touring model wheels were used until 05. The anniversary model had a differing wheel design that looks similar to the standard 5-spoke 18's that were used from 06 and on. But the rest of the 05 models used the same wheels used in 03 and 04.

My mistake, I have an 05 touring as well and my stock wheels are 7 spoke instead of 5. I figured nissan changed up the wheel design every few years or so, because from looking at other Z's out there I noticed depending on the model and year a few different types.

Park next to a track model owned by some yuppie lady and swap the engines at night.

Very good buy. Low miles to boot too. Check up on the faqs to look for things to repair. You can also call up on the dealer, give them your vin and ask for record of dealer repairs and recalls.

Swap the interiors too. Your colors are too light and easy to stain.

Have it taken to a Nissan dealership for a 1000 point inspection and have them look up the VIN for repairs.

that Z looks great! i like everything about it. the paint, the wing, the interior, and of course the 6-speed. hopefully his 100% feedback (minus 1 guy that looked impatient) will hold up! congrats on the almost-purchase and i hope it goes well!

again, THANK YOU EVERYONE for your positive criticism. I called a housecall mechanic where the guy lives to check it out and do the inspection. He will check it out, take it for a test drive, and is going to put the Z on a ramp and check the bottom, too. If all goes well, my dad just deposited a couple checks so he can get a bank check. After all this, I should have the car by this weekend.

I have the frost interior too. It looks very luxurious and keeps the car cool. Everything looks good...I wished the last owner kept the stock shift boot and ebrake handle boot black. They dont match the interior, too light.

FYI...they had to drill a hole in the center console cubby to install that Satellite radio.

try to get an engine diagnostic, make sure it wasn't over reved.

.....i traded my RSX partly because the engine had a permanent code that I had the RPMS at 10,500 for at least 3 seconds...OoooOOOops
