Hey guys, I finally got chance to put the wheels i ordered on and I'm loving the look :woot: . I'm still on the fence about lowering the car as there are many problems you run into with a lowered car but overall I'm in love. Tell me what you think!

Are the front offsets pretty aggressive?

Thanks man! And I'm looking to get some coilovers, but I just don't know which set would suit me best. I don't really care for performance that much as i have no intentions of taking it down the track. I've been searching the forum but so far it's all mixed reviews on Megan, BC, Tein etc. I guess it's more of a preference when it comes to coilovers.

The wheels look straight...what are the wheel/tire specs? A drop is definitely needed to complement your new set up. If you're overly concerned about lowering your car due to "problems" associated with doing so. Just stick to the basic aftermarket struts/shocks and springs combo. Coilovers are typically hit or miss and one should expect some minor issues with coilovers. :yesnod

What problems are you concerned about that are associated with lowering the car? I was surprised when I threw my coils on. It's not as bouncy or as harsh as some people made it seem to be. But that's me. I'm on ksport coils. Only problem I've come across is scraping the bottom of my car and getting up driveways.

Thanks man!!! What I'm worried about mostly is the the snow up here in New Jersey, how will it affect the car ? I know that I'll sacrifice some ride quality , but is it so much that it's unbearable? I mean don't get me wrong hate that nasty SUV sized gap that's there and I wanna get some coils and I just wanted to get some pros and cons :ohno:

And it's 18x9.5+12

Whoooooow that's some poke in the front!

I'm afraid that it will look like a mini-truck until you get coil overs -- those spec wheels need a good amount of camber to make them fit.

I suggest Tein, the consensus seemed to be that those offered the best ride quality. I can vouch for the back breaking firmness of the BC coil overs.

Haha tell me about It, it looks like a mini monster truck!! And yea I've checked out Teins and they seem like they'll suit me best. Good thing I didn't pull the trigger and got the bc's

Also, as you brought up camber I was planing on just getting the fenders rolled wouldn't that fly-by opposed to getting camber because honestly I dislike the "broken" look

You definitely got wheels with offsets that are to negative for the coupe "as it is". The wheel set-up would look a lot better if you slam your coupe and tuck the wheels inward. You'll need to do some additional suspension modifications to make your wheel set-up work. Keep in mind that if you lower your car, your wheels will hit/rub/damage your fenders. Rolling your fenders may not be enough to prevent rubbing, but it's hard be 100% sure from the pictures you posted.

I'd say the wheel pokes about 2-3 inches outward measuring from the fender and as it is now with two adults in the back seat I'm already experiencing a slight rub..clearly you can see that I'm a noob and still learning lol :chuckle: :wavey:

Lowering your car with coilovers/springs will most likely cause you to experience major rubbing due to the wheel's offset being to negative. (pokes out to much). And based on what you've described and the pics you posted, you may need to purchase a new set up wheels with the correct offset if you wish to lower your car without having any wheel rubbing issues. Your alternative would be to do some fender modifications to make the wheels fit with a drop. :yesnod

Let us know how matters materialize, :)

Nah, the current one will fit fine. It will certainly need fine tuning and massaging but it will fit.

There are people on here who run 9.5 +5!!

The tires are already stretched well. Just needs a little bit of camber.
Also, I recommend getting the inner fenders trimmed off.
You can even do it yourself if you have a dremel and a steady hand. Much more effective than rolling, and less risk of damaging the paint.

Hell nah...those wheels will not fit with simply tucking the wheels and trimming the fenders. The offset is way to negative according to the pics.

Honestly I have no experience with cars whatsoever, so this will be my first "modded" car. I think I will probably still get the coilovers to eliminate atleast some of the gap for now untill I get around to some new wheels, but in the mean time I'll fiddle with other things lol ( audio upgrade)
