Woo-Hoo. My car is back in my garage. Only 8 short months after the swap began. Motor is in, transmission is replaced and for the most part it runs.

My only real complaint is that the car 'studders' when going into boost. the car will rev beautifly under no load, and if you just very gradualy accelerate, it will pass the 3krpm mark with no trouble. However, If you try to accelerate quickly, from above or below 3krpm it will shake and hesitate.

I already pulled the SMIC and replaced the leaking gasgets with RTV silicone, also checked it for leaks. All the pipes appear intact. One vacume source goes to the wastegate, one to the Recirc valve, and another to the FPR.

The car has a walbro hi flow pump.. so fuel should be OK..

My friend commented that my car 'let out alot of exhaust' when starting from a stopsign. He described it as dark-grey in color. Running rich?

Thanks for your help in nailing this down.

it worked in the car before mine, tho i will check over the wireing for anything visibly wrong.

Could this be caused by a pinhole? or something much larger? o2 Sensor? What about the MAF should I check?

Its been 8 months. All I want to do is drive my f u c king car.

Aight, I went over the IC pipes with Carb-Cleaner, Motor didnt surge anywhere. Tightened some clamps and re-alighned a few pipes anyway. No cracks, No leaks that i can find.

Checked over the whopping 3 vacume lines. They differ from Heavy-Throttles instructions in that the bottom line goes to my recirc valve, as the stock IC pipes dont appear to have a vacume nipple.

The o2 sensor is on the turbo-exit (Hot or down?) pipe right? Maybe I'll do plugs and an o2 sensor tomorrow.

Dauntt -- You think I should get a J-Yard MAF and try swappin it?

Mine studders too but if mine studders like your car does then I dont think its a big deal. If I were to punch it at like 2000 and let off it will not start up as quickly as above 3000. Its probably more attributed to turbo lag than anything else, you cant go fast if theres no air to combust.

Check fuel pump, fuel filter, I dont think you could tell if the O2 sensor is bad anyway (its the one on the O2 extension coming off the turbo), plugs wouldnt cause a studder but you can check them anyway. It is supposed to give off a dark smoke off the line if you just floor it, so thats normal, its just running rich most likely since the fuel air hasnt been added to the fuel yet..

No.. i dont think this islag.. this is the car actualy shaking for a few seconds.

My pump should be OK, but i'm gonna pull it to try to fix my float arm anyway.. plugs could be old or improperly torqued, so i'm gonna do that tonight. depending on the price of an SOHC maf i'll do that too. Then monday i'm gonna order a Hotpipe and real Bov.. eliminate a few possible causes.

I pulled my plugs, partly for this, partly for another thred. They are old, dirty "NKG PFR6B-9 ------- JAPAN" And the first one smelled of gas. Sure was nice of my shop to order used plugs all the way from Japan. JDM Rules!
