I found why it was knocking... i have 4 pistons, 4 con-rods... and 6 bearings??? thats right.... my oil pan is shiny on the inside!

I am now in a good enough situation to start my rebuild finally... after nearly 5 months of just staring at my poor pulsar in the backyard. I'll be notching my de pistons and installing them into my det soon. gotta make a template for which to get the right hole in the pistons so I can clear the squirters. The head off my DE seems in good shape so ill be using it with my rebuilt det bottom end. Ive got a full exhuast that needs to be made too, since my old one got junked thanks to construction ditches without signs

Its been awhile since ive been motivated and in good spirits over my dead ca18's. wish me luck!

You got my good graces! I've been down for a while on the FWD side of things, but I'm fitting it in as best I can.

That turbo is huuuuge! from what I gathered from the compressor map, it'll do ~52lb/min with a pressure ratio of 2.5 and do it with ridiculous efficiency. Hot.

Pretty much require pictures of you doing stuff to the DE.

because de pistons lack the happy lil hole for the squirters. I am useing my det block, and i will be copying the det piston's notch into my de ones. I already got an air tool to do it with, i plan to do it today or tomarrow... it is raining today, so perfect weatehr to be stuck in the garage

Hopefully my camera will still take pictures and ill take some snaps along the way. If not, i might need to borrow my friends camera... but ill get some shots soon.

I guess I should have asked a different question. Whats wrong with your det pistons? The reason I ask is because I have a spare set of det pistons if you want them?

nah, ive got an extra set now too I want the higher compression. I drove around on my ca18de running 6psi and it had SO much more power then my det did. low, middle, and top end were all amazing. the det was quick, but the de+t was insane.

two pistons down... two more to go! have to take a break though, my ears are ringing from my compressor and the air tool next to my head

you can see what i cut in that last pisture... all in all pretty easy to do.
