AWESOME!:dude: The best thing that ever happened to me was marrying Jill. Three beautiful kids and a life later things are still good (what kind of man wouldn't love a woman who let's you buy Datsuns and thinks it's ok). May God bless you both. Ken
P.S. Stephen, what are you doing to your distributor?

[/quote]I'm using the distributor I purchased from tdaaj for parts my electronic ignition conversion.   I need the drive gear and mount from it.  My stock distributor is basically new as I purchased it about a year ago so I wanted to keep it intact.

Well I've given up on using a Datsun electronic distributor on my 320.  I've tried the one from an L series and from and A series.  I have an added problem since I don't have the stock starter/trans etc.  With the later model trans/starter there just isn't enough room for the larger diameter distributor.  I can get it mounted but there is so little clearance between the distributor and the starter that when you pop the clips to remove the distributor cap, the lower clip hits the stud on the starter where the + battery cable connects.  Not good!  And rather than re-clocking it which I could hae done but then I'd have to decide where I wanted the module to sit, I just cleaned up the stock J13 dist I purchased from tadaaj and put a Pertronix in it instead.

IMH, I purchased a Pertronix for my 320 but it looks like it is going to take some serious modification to work. Is is working ok in the J-13? Do you know if the J-13 distributor can be used in the E-1?

The J13 distributor should work in the E1 if you use the mount that goes into the engine and the mount that goes on the base of the distributor.  I say 'should' but I've never tried it.   The Pertronix works fine in the J13 dist.  Kit number #1741.
