It could be injectors too.

Let me tell you my injectors sounded like ****in machine guns lol.

Mine sound the same. If you pop my hood, and put your head directly over the motor while it's running, it sounds like a diesel... But it's an 'organized' sound..? That make sense? If it's like a random clanky, rattly sound, it's probably the guides.

Is it at all rpms? Is it more pronounced with the engine under a load? Is it worse anytime more then others?

well i tried using a metal pipe as a thestoscope (or however its spelled) and found its mainly the injectors but the top guide does still bother me cuz at times it makes noises too -- how hard is it to take off, or can i take it off without replacing?? and my power steering pump is only being used for water pump -- no power steering on car, so its running dry. ANYONE KNOW A WAY TO RUN WATER PUMP WITHOUT POWER STEERING PUMP AS A TENSIONER??? Thanks guys.

i guess just try and find a shorter universal type belt that would skip the power steering pump, it's been a while since i did my belts so i can't really remember what it looks like but anything can be done..btw i don't think you should run that pump dry, that thing spins really fast and i believe it uses the power steering fluid as a lubricant..

my engine ticks as well, i can hear it most when its idling, can't really hear it when rev'd up or driving, maybe my exhaust is too loud lol..i think if the ticking gets louder as you apply the throttle is when it's a problem like a knock or something

yea im gonna try to rig up a hose to go from feed to return so it just recycles within the pump...got my gauges hooked up and will get pics, looks like the 7psi wastegate spikes to 12psi. gotta look at that tomorrow and hook up the manual boost controller.
