Well finally got that out of the way. No matter where how careful you park. By parking in the boonies, picking a wide parking spot, careful careful careful parking strategy.

Your innocent car will get hit by some bafoon. My mistake is parking behind a truck. Their tail-end was facing my front-end. Of course the person couldn't just drive out normally in this perfect world. They had to back up a bit and hit my car. They broke my license plate cover and chip my bumper paint.

I'm just speculating it was them since I have no proof.

I just hate it when people bump your car as if its no big deal in the world!!!

Well I was expecting somebody to dent my doors by now when people exit in their cars in the parking lot. But NOOOOO its somebody who had to back out when all they had to do is put the vehicle in DRIVE. I only stayed 10 min at walmart and the truck was gone by then.

Well I had to vent. Hate people who cant even drive in a parking lot.

I am really considering Bull Bars now. It would have prevented this. I know they might create more damage in a REAL crash. But Im hoping I never get that. Usually I get the damage in parking lots.

Now that I got that first DINK from another car out of the way. Life is good.!

well I believe your situation is better than mineI own my Rogue for like one and a half yearsand got hit on the rear bumper for 3 timesThe first time is after 3 months of ownership, by a car, where he bumps into me when I was stop on a red light, only little paint damageThe second time, I was about to make a right turn on an intersection, but I stop for people who are crossing the street, and the guy behind me said "I thought you are going to move so I didn't stop" and hit me. Bumper replaced due to the damage to the texture area at the bottom of the bumper, and it happen 5 months after ownershipThe third time, I was at the exit of a highway, and stop due to the traffic, then, the bus, yes bus, behind me hit me ~.~ Luckily he is driving slow due to the traffic, and only cause them ~$1200 to repair it :-) Bumper was damaged and one of the stuff inside the bumper is damaged also. And the bad this is, when this happen, I just came out of the body shop from the last damage for maybe 1 week.

So, in conclusion, people loves my Rogue bumper

It's funny how people only like to hit your car when it's new or somewhat new. I had my Rogue for a good month and a half before someone decided to rear end me.

As with my old car, people seem to be very careful around it. No dings or scratches...just the usual wear and tear.

Speaking of getting rear-ended. I remember when my immaculate pristine pearl glow nissan maxima, even though it was 5-6 years old at the time. It was garaged and perfect condition. I loved that car. Had it for over 16 years. Anyways, when I was waiting at a red light, some guy in his sport's car hit my nissan's rear bumper. I got out of the car and told him, LOOK what you did to my car, and how it was my brand new car. Well it looked new because the way I took care of the exterior. Using synthetic since i bought it etc.

But I was really upset with the guy. But then I realized a another guy driving a station wagon smashed into his rear end. To top it off the guy in the sports car had his family in it. And guess what he told me his car was brand new and I saw his new tags. I soon felt sorry for him.

I mean you should have seen his car. It looked like an accordian. It was smashed at both ends. His wife and daughter was okay. I felt for the guy. While my Nissan maxima had only paint missing. No dent or nothing. I was amazed that his car was badly crushed and mine barely. scathed.

I feel your pain. I park way out (and walk a long way), always try to get next to a curb with a curb behind me, I get right next to the curb too so there is a lot of parking space next to me. One day, park at the end of a row, no curb next to me, notice the line of cars which will be backing up towards my car from the side, but figure no one could possibly be that stupid. Wrong. Right on the corner of the left side rear bumper, a perfect 6-7 inch diameter depression. Left it sit for a couple of days then took a space heater in the garage and gently warmed it up, a floor tile puller from work, and pop! Out it came. Looks almost perfect, slightly misshapen and a tiny paint ding. No one can tell it was ever there except me.
