Though it's been slow going (mostly due to finances. Or should I say lack thereof) I'm finally making a little headway. First of all, thanks to AZHitman and his awesome post on removing the seatbelt pillar I was able to do the same without too much trouble. Here are some pics...

From the right..

also notice I'm now sporting my refurbished boot for the first time.

and from the left lol...

Wow, what a difference. Like night and day. And I gotta say; few things make a guy feel more manly than sitting amid a shower of sparks while hacking away on a steel automobile.Oh yeah, and here's a pic of how my moved seatbelt turned out. Given another chance I might do a thing or to different with that one. 20/20 hindsight, you know?

Since I had to replace the door panels with coupe panels from a junkyard, I had to do something with the ruined upholstery right? So I replaced it with red faux-leather (technically vinyl if you insist). They came out pretty decent. I had to redo them twice to get them as good as they are. Once more and I think I might finally get 'em right. Here's a pic. In real life the color actually matches the exterior paint fairly well...

And while I was at the junkyard I also managed to pick up a replacement carpet for $15. It's a much darker gray and thicker weave than the oem it replaced. The downside is that being from a hatchback, it's quite a buit larger in the back making it a royal pita to install. Here's a pic...

Well that's all so far (except for a cold air intake and my stereo install) pics? Sure, why not?

Next up will be new 17" rims and tires, then lowering it a bit and putting a new exhaust on her. Later on perhaps a body kit and some new paint.

Okay then, sorry for rambling on like I have. Feel free to leave any comments or ask any questions. Remember, most of this wouldn't have been possible without your assistance and expertise. But most of all; without your willingness to share it. Thanks. Cya -Glyph

That is pimpin! I especially love what you did with the trunk. This all must have taken quite a bit of time, bravo for one VERY clean install!

Attaboy G!!!

Those OEM chromies are HOT!!!

You gotta show me closeups of the door panels - How the HELL did you get the leather to lay flat in the concave insets?

ALSO, get rid of that front plate mount - I have something I'll mail you to mount the plate under the bumper. Shoot me your addy if interested.

AZHitman, I'm glad you like. One day when my car grows up, it hopes to be like yours. The "Vert from Hell" is it's inspiration lol.

It's interesting that you like the oem chromies. I've often wondered where they came from as I don't think I've seen them on any other 240 pictured, nor do I recall them being listed as an "option" in that one post re original specs etc. One of the ways I've attempted to rationalize the purchase of new wheels and tires is by telling myself I could no doubt recoup some of the money by selling them. 3 of the wheels are almost perfect but one has a little curb rash and the tires have maybe 80% tread left. How much do you think I might get for them? I was thinking around $200 - $250 but then I really haven't a clue.

In regards to the door panels...My digicam's on the fritz so I had to borrow a friends. Therefore it'll be a li'l bit before closeups. If you'd like, I could write out a detailed post on exactly how I accomplished it and perhaps it could be added to the tutorials section as a sticky. Let me know. As I said, it took me three tries to get them as nice as they are. Each time I learned more tips and tricks until I'm fairly confident I've got it down. No seams, no cuts, no folds, no visible staples or screws etc. Eventually I'd like to paint the car black and leave the red accents inside and out (I just painted my calipers red as well). I think that'll look bad@ss with a nice bodykit. Ahhh dreamin' lol.

And lastly, as far as the front license goes. I emailed you my address. I'll appreciate whatever it is you plan on sending me. I too find the mounting of the front plate kinda ugly.

The rims were probably chromed by a previsous owner. There are places that will send you a chrome set if you send them yours plus a bunch of money.

Or just exchange yours with chromed ones with about $550. That's a lot of money...

hey hitman, would you happen to have a picture of the mounting the plate under the bumper? im very curious of what that looks like. when i mounted my license plate in the air dam or under the bumper, my radiator shot. i wasnt ever sure it was because the license plate was blocking air.

BrokeAs240sx, I'd be more than happy to do a write up on the door panels. Only there's a problem. Because my digital camera's been broken, I didn't take any pics during the actual project. Don't get me wrong. I could still write the whole thing out. I just fear certain parts might be extremely difficult to follow without pictures. If you don't think that'd be a problem let me know and I'll go for it.

On the other hand...now that I've kinda got it down I'm thinking of redoing it. The place I bought my vinyl at had some premium styles that cost twice as much and had to be ordered but they were SO hot. Picture the following in red; viper snakeskin, red carbon fibre, lizard and/or croc skin, suede with small (breathing?) holes in it, and many more I can't think of at the moment. If I DO redo it, I'll def. take pics every step of the way.

AZHitman, thanks for the front plate holder. I installed it and it looks alot better than it did.

Meanwhile I finally got my new CDT components installed so here's a couple more pics...

Please, go for the writeup, any little bit helps. I want to make sure I can do this successfully (have tried numerous times in the past) before I order the inserts and try again.

THANKS!
