Looks like a good start, but I would primer the doorjams.

What are your future plans?

funny you should mention the doorjams... i actually like the contrast. When my buddy and i painted it (spray gun, satin black) i didnt even think about it, and it turned out to be somewhat of a surprise bonus. The purple color would have actually been really nice, but it was WAY beyond being saved at that point.

as far as mods, the only things ive done are front and rear strut tower bars, stripped the rear interior and center console (had to be done trust me) and most recently my buddy (same guy who painted it with me)and i cut a coil apiece off the front springs. we ran out of daylight so we decided to put it off till we could get to the rear springs. oh and the $40 front bumper cover i got off craigslist.org... its not exactly my style but i figured i want to put a nice kit on down the line. being that ive never driven a car before this one with a kit, i got a cheapy (haha i havent even bought the Chuki turn lights... just made my pignose lights work hahahaha) as "training wheels". eff it im not gonna ruin a brand new Origin kit.

but the usual in store... coilovers (thinking Tein), wheels (prob Sportmax 962s... the spokey ones with the lip...) maybe the fixed headlight conv. from garage13. i have a love hate relationship with my popups.

i def. need a new hood sooner or later. top radiator support needs to be swapped and stuff. the list goes on.

To make it short, its gonna be a drifter. nothing TOO fancy, i may not end up with an origin kit. probably gonna put most of my money into the suspension and chassis. Theres a shop in santa clara where i want to take my open diff to have it welded.

although i do want to get a nice set of 180 tail lights. they're pretty sexy.

and i am pretty adamant about keepin it a KA powered car. probably end up tossin a snail at it and callin it good. after a hefty rebuild, that is.

Not bad looking at all. I'm not a huge fan of the matte black, but it looks like you did it right. And i'm probably wrong, but are those polished teardrop wheels on the passenger side of the car? You don't see that to often. Lookin' good though.

haha yeah you noticed the wheels...

i bought the car that way, for $600. i dont really care about the wheels yet. haveing only paid 600 for it, theres much more important things to spend money on and i was actually thinking of going all 4 polished 12'ers. that or 17's down the road.

hell i still need to replace the front fenders hood and bumper.

but i do have Megan front and rear strut tower bars funny thing is, they did a lot for the car. also brought out the tendency for understeer. i got around that rather quickly though.

Dude i dont know what it is but i really love your car. I would like to see some updated pictures though (if youve done a significant amount of stuff.) would make me happy face.

It seems the picture in your sig has a darker black than the ones posted here. Think theres any way to make it a darker black?

Edit- name of a darker black

wtf???

seriously this thread is ancient!

car doesn't really look like that anymore. Been through a set of 17"s; already and got rid of em. Front end has been re-skinned but is still primer gray. Coils are on the car, windows tinted, ebay catback, welded diff.

how the hell do these threads come back like this anyway???

It happens. People searching for stuff come across older threads. Honestly, nothing really wrong with it.

Thanks! A proper compressor/paint gun job application goes a LONG way. s*** I never even had to sand after laying it down.oh she is a lot lower now... about an inch and a half lower than my sig pic. I was still on stock suspension in the original post pics, now im on Apex'i coils, which have been amazing.

wheel specs? they're just s***ty XXR's...(still Sportmaxx when i bought them). I was running a 25mm spacer in the back just to get them flush lol. Can't remember the exact specs but suffice it to say that they were 17"s, 8" in front and 9" in back with honda offsets.

check out XXR wheels. IF I were to buy another set of XXRs/Sportmaxxes, and thats a BIG IF- it sure as hell wouldnt be those. Would probably go with the 501s i think... the Watanabe knocks that you can get in 16x8 +0. probably the best fit for the money, and not entirely too heavy.
