Well, after being here for a while, i decided that it was time to show some pics of my car.

Here are some pics of my car (the night pics aren't that great):

Those were pics of the car the day after i got it, etc.

Here are some more recent ones...

As for plans...I plan on repainting it just to get rid of all the little rust and paint imperfection spots on it before it becomes a big problem.

Then (hopefully) i'll plan on going KA-T...haven't thought too much about this yet though.

Thanks!

You should see the door jambs...they're blue!

Anyways, im planning on keeping it almost the same color. I think i might just go a little darker and maybe throw in some pearl or metallic.

Yeah, im definitely gonna get on that about the whole engine bay and interior colors...the shop that painted this really did a half-a** job on it.

Edit: (don't worry tried to search before asking this) So can anyone tell me what kind of gear oil i use for the lsd? Is it 75w-90 (it's cold up here for majority of the year)? And what kind of transmission (manual) fluid do i use? And how much of each would i need? Thanks.

meh i say if you keep it, paint the interior the same and the bay blue; and get presidential to do a custom ducky valve cover

its too flashy for me but its a start

Wow. I actually like the yellow! Your car is screaming for some Royal Sports Bronze P45R's after you drop it some more. I don't really like that color much, but it would look great on your car. That or the Time Attack colored ones

Just curious but why go through the trouble of relocating the stereo for those gauges when it's the stock motor?

Well, thats they way i bought it as...one of the previous owners did all that to it. Hell, the water temp gauge doesn't even work at the moment unfortunantely.

Well, since the weather here is starting to warm up...im actually starting to get into the mood of working on my car!

Went to Lowe's today and picked up a few things...

Well here's a sneak peek of what's to come:

Im basically going to do the same exact thing like hbpignose is doing and cleaning up the little rust spots on the inside and getting that all taken care of.

Those giant double-DIN gauges are definitely unsettling.

Good score otherwise.

Nice car. I'm not digging the school bus yellow though. But as long as you enjoy it.

Good luck with the rust.

Nice yellow paint job. The CD receiver is in a weird location... Isn't it hard to use it all the way over on the passenger side?

Surprisingly enough, the rust on this car isn't that bad at all, sure there's tiny rust spot here and there on the inside, while on the outside, the only places where i found it were on the rockers (of course) and on the deck lid where the the wiper use to be. Other than that, i haven't found anymore anywhere else.

Edit:

Not really, i just use the little remote thing for the cd deck. Although I'll admit trying to change cd's is a PITA.

Well, since this weekend was so nice, i decided it was time to do a little work...

I wanted to get rid of the "little" rust problem in the trunk area...

(Can't wait til i fix this one.....:)

On Saturday, i made some progress!

Well, I thought I would only need 1 wire wheel brush thing but damn, was i wrong. So I decided to head back over to Lowes.

Well, today I pretty much finished up (sort of)...

Sprayed some primer.

Looks so much better now! :D

Well, next up, I gotta weld in some patch panels for those holes. Except, im not gonna be doing that for a while so its gonna have to stay like this for quite some time. In the end, once I fix up the rest of the interior, I think im just gonna spray it black...not too sure exactly but im kinda leaning towards that.

Hmmm...

Can't say for sure, but Im gonna take a wild guess and say that a paint job like that would cost about $3500+ (at least?)

Luckily for me since i work in an auto body shop (in the paint department more specifically ), once i repaint this, it will only cost me about $500

I sorta like the exterior color, would be much better if you stripped it all the way down before repainting IMO. I like the idea of the black interior too.

Well I personally don't like the color, but to each they're own.

The Rust fixing was just covered for now, I would do that first before anything else..when your hatch is rusting like that I would check seals and under neath, if its rusted like that on top your frame might be shot where the muffler is..

Just my opinions.

Yeah, I havent gotten a good look on the underside yet...definitely going to try and check it out tomorrow.

Anyways, a new shift knob is a must...any suggestions by any chance? I was just thinking of getting one of those nismo ones. Can't really think of anything else though.
