If anyone rembers this thread from June:

http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....ce+DC

It took two months, but I found a black on tan '96 J30t with 73k (with all scheduled maintenance done at the dealership) for a real good price. I would have preferred another silver, but black is nice too. Just too hard to keep clean.

Here's my question. I followed the instuctions in the thread on programming fobs, but I can't seem to get the second to program. I can program either seperately but neither at the same time. After programing the first I locked and unlocked the driver's door but I cannot get the second remote to flash the hazards. Any suggestions?

here's the thread:

Has anyone programmed two key fobs using this method?:

1. get in the car2. manually lock the doors (by the knob)3. pop the trunk 2. insert the key into the ignition 9 times (as fast as you can).3. manually unlock & lock the drivers door (with the door switch).4. hit lock button on remote(if programming two remotes) 5. manually unlock & lock the drivers door (with the door switch).6. hit the lock button on the second remote.-Joe

like I said, it does work to program the first fob. I cannot get it to work for programming the second, i.e steps 5 and 6.

why do you need to keyless entry remotes in the first plaace? Just use one and keep the other in case one breaks. Unless you really need to open the trunk and unlock the doors at the exact same time.

j30t, i think he might want to have one with him and have one as a backup in case of lost keys/locked keys in car or let someone else have keyless entry also.

anyways, here, i tried to get this from nissan-techinfo.com, but they charge money. Found it on a message board.

Quote »1. Open the trunk

2. Close and lock all doors

3. Insert and remove the key from the ignition six times within 10 seconds

4. Manually unlock and lock driver's door once to enable "setting" mode

5. Push lock button on the new remote controller once, just long enought to hear it beep (BTW, mine didn't beep! Don't worry!), within 5 seconds of completing step 4

6. If additional remotes are needed (up to 3), repeat steps 4 and 5 for each additional remote immediately after programming the first remote (note: a total of four (4) remotes can be programmed to funtion on the same vehicle)

For addtional information please refer to page BF-38 of the 1993 and 1994 J30 Service Manuals.[/quote](by the way, does anyone know where i can get a FSM for i30t?)

Also, I found out recently that if you hold the unlock button down on the remote, it lowers the driver and passenger side windows for some reason. You cant put them back up with the remote, but you can't lower them.

I understand that you can download it as a .pdf file with the 1 day viewing subscription ($19.99) on http://www.infiniti-techinfo.com

Best deal out there if you ask me. Save it to a CD ROM, searchable on your computer, print out what you need, and throw away the greasy copies when you're done!

Bro, if I wanted your opinion on whether or not I need two key fobs programmed, I would have entitled the thread "J30t, do I need more than one remote?"

However, my question was to someone who has programmed two remotes and can offer insight into why I cannot program the second. Thanks.

And I30t, thanks, I already found that thread - my problem is the programming of the second.

I got the TSB from the dealership for My Q, and it reads the same way. I tried to program the second remote about 5 times to no avail, and gave up. I will do some more testing, tonight. Try just doing step 5, and skip the step 4 manual part, when you are programming the second remote. Also, remember, you only have a few seconds, this may be 5 seconds for all 4 remotes.

Jeff

I've tried it a bunch of times, a bunch of differnt ways ( e.g. lock with know and switch lock/unlock of just unlock) with no success. I don't think that time was the issue, I think the time was for the key insertion the way it read. But I'll try agian tonite.

Another thing, If you hit the first remote button twice, it might end the programming mode. I think I was doing that. If I get home before 10:00 PM, I will give mine a shot, as well.

Good Luck!
