So I put a deposit down on a 2006 black/black M35x with 60,000 miles on it about 3 months back, and after some title issues, it is finally in my posession. The car feels great to drive, and I am really enjoying all the options (equipped with all packages, including rear reclining seats/shade, etc.)
I do have a few questions though, and I've done some research on the site, haven't found a clear answer yet for some reason. If it was mentioned before, I apologize for not looking into it further.

1. The car has the tech/journey/every other package. One question. Before the navi/dvd hack, can the aux/dvd video be watched from the front, or does the front video only get enabled with the hack? I had a video ipod hooked up to the car yesterday via aux, and had the parking brake on, could not for the life of me find the option of turning the front screen to watch the aux videos. Have not tried the DVD yet, will do that today.
2. The lane departure warning, could it be shut off permanently? I know it is probably in the manual which I didn't have a chance to thoroughly read yet, but it is annoying having to shut the feature off every time I get in the car. PA roads are messed up, you often find yourself swerving around potholes.

Thanks in advance.
I think that's all for now. Looking forward to my stay at Nicoclub!

Yes, the switch can shut off the LDW permanently-until you turn it back on. Hold down on the switch for a few seconds-that should do it.

Thanks the the input, I'll try that.

Any answer on the video questions? Am I supposed to be able to watch dvd/aux from the front if the car is in park/has the parking brake on?

Congrats on the " new " car, I have the same year and make, very happy with it.

You can watch video from the Aux input with the car in park and the parking brake on, it's just a little hard to find the Aux button. If you select " DVD " screen you'll see on the screen in the lower left corner the " Aux " button, highlight that and select and you should see video. Good luck

I actually sat around poking random buttons for a few minutes, and figured out that AUX can be activated by pressing the DISC button twice.... I'm sure it's in the manual, still have yet to sit down and read through it.
Ordering the navi bypass harness today! Thanks for all the help so far guys
